She lived in the same town that my parents were in when we were in LA, and my friend went to high school with her. Before the season started he mentioned how he thought it was cool someone he was semi friends with was dating Goff. She was also posting stuff on her Instagram stories at the Rams games with Andrew Witworth's wife early in the season, including the Chargers game and the Cardinals game, which I vividly remember seeing. There were rumours of them dating in the offseason, then there were stories of her at the game sitting with player wives, and then during the season they went public.

They were dating beforehand, they were just being more private about it, which is 100% Goff's style. He's even mentioned it before in interviews how he slid into her DMs during the offseason but they kept it lowkey at first.
I hope Stafford gets caught with Goff's GF this weekend in LA to just complete the mental dismantling.

I do. Goff gets into rhythm with underneath throws and Morris' defense plays into that. Mentioned all this earlier in the thread, but yeah I am of the mind that Goff will bust his ass this week and show up and play well.

I don't think they win the game because the Rams are that much better. But I expect to be irritated by Detroit moving the ball up and down the field.
That’s not how the NFL works.

The Lions Oline is decimated and they have zero deep threats. There is literally no reason to play the deep shells that Morris loves.

Morris will flood the short and mid game that Goff excels at. Mark it down. We will see lots of running and deep shots to WR’s that cannot create separation. This is not a lion team that has Megatron, Golladay or even Marvin Jones.

I hope Morris does as you suggest. We shall see. I do think we'll win this one I just don't think it's gonna be comfortable. But being wrong on that would be fantastic.:thumbsup1:

Goddamn I hate when I agree with Prisco.

I don't see it. The Rams could blow out the Lions in crushing fashion. Stafford is going to feast on that Lion's secondary, which is straight up bad. Donald is going to get to Goff, as will Floyd and the rest of the guys.

Well since most of RoD has spoken on this I can relax and know a blowout win is coming right? Right?

We all like to have fun with the drama of this game. The Goff haters are licking their lips lol.

Truth is The Goff/Stafford trade is justified if Stafford can win a Super Bowl, otherwise we wasted massive amounts of draft capital and mortgaged the future in vain.

Here is to Stafford playing his best ball in the playoffs :clinkingbeer::clinkingbeer::clinkingbeer:and doesn’t roll out that shitshow we saw vs the Cardinals.

Not that I am agreeing with the poster, but I have heard many times that they started dating right after the KC game.

Where have you gotten your information about him dating her before the season? Sincere question.

Yeah, I'm not buying the girlfriend explanation either. He wasn't some nerdy dork who'd never been laid before, he was an NFL QB and before that was a college QB at a prominent school that probably had a significant amount of female "talent" on campus that was available to him. His current hot gf is thus probably not the beginning of his carnal experiences, as I feel fairly confident in saying that as a highly rated QB at Cal-Berkely (enough to go #1 in the draft) he was no stranger to spending intimate time with hot women.

I think his decline with the Rams is nothing more complicated than the team declining around him, not being able to make up the deficit, and having his confidence and play decline in a vicious circle. He began 2018 with a stout OL, three great WRs, and peak Todd Gurley. The next year he began the season with a shell of Gurley, a declining Brandin Cooks (thus, the decline of a deep threat) and an interior OL that included the bad Brian Allen (not yet ready), a badly miscast Joe Noteboom (who should never play guard), and turnstile Austin Blythe at G. And then injuries and shuffling further messed up the OL. Brandin Cooks got his bell rung a number of times and our deep game went into the toilet. Goff couldn't compensate for all that, and thus his play declined too, and along with it, his confidence. While it looked like things might get better early last season, once teams figured out that we had no deep game and that we had a turnstile at C who could easily be bull-rushed by just about any NFL D-linemen (and who is missed by precisely nobody, irrespective of what side they were on in the great Goff debate), his play reverted and his confidence continued its tailspin. Even then, he still had some decent games, but just not enough. So the team moved on and got someone better.

It's fair to criticize the product he put on the field and just as fair to say that Stafford is an upgrade. But the whole "he got laid and didn't care anymore" as well as the "he got paid and didn't care anymore" is just a bullshit attack on the guy's character. Everybody around Goff has vouched for his character, and if he didn't care I doubt Brad Holmes would have pulled the trigger on trading for him and taking on his cap hit.

I agree with you. I do believe he'll overthink it and try to pass too much and it will work against him. This offense is at its best when it's balanced. :clinkingbeer:
I actually don't think the need to prove out the trade will play in much toward the game plan. If the Rams can run it, they will. I DO expect a big game from Stafford though and I also expect a good pass rush with tighter coverage from Morris.

McVay tends not to try to run up the score and I don't expect him to change that if we get up early. I also won't be surprised if we ARE up big that Wolfy makes an appearance.

After watching Good morning football and other NFL media shows circling the Goff/McVay/Stafford wagon makes me chuckle.

There are so many other examples of former QB's facing their old teams for the first time.

The hype train focuses on QB's facing their old teams loaded with drama of why they were traded, cut, not respected and confused of why they might have been mistreated.

It's big time fun for the media to delve into. It adds emotion and hype and promotes the game for fans to have another reason to be more interested.

The Goff/McVay/Stafford version just happens to be the next one on the QB drama menu.

Just beat the Lions.

Go 2021 Rams!

Hahahahaha.

The same people that tell us Goff sucks are shaking in their boots that he will lead an injury and talent depleted bottom dweller Franchise over a 5-1 team at home.

You can’t make this stuff up :laugh4::laugh4::laugh4::laugh4::laugh4::laugh4::laugh4::laugh4::laugh4:

That is pure bullshit and conjecture. This isn't a school yard, we don't need to make up rumors.

Goff started dating his girlfriend before the 2018 season and they became public a few weeks in, but sure as soon as he started dating her he stopped caring about football. He only leaves her for weeks/months during the offseason to train, while she's doing her shoots, clearly the man doesn't care.

Dumbest fucking takes I've ever heard regarding his backslide, it reeks of jealousy.
Regardless of timeline, I think that theory is silly. Most NFL QBs, and players for that matter, have hot girlfriends/wives/side chicks.

I'm not sure what it is really but I think the regression was glaring.

I actually hope Goff gets it righted after the next game but can't see it happening this year with the huge lack of talent around him. Most if not all QBs need at least a modicum of top talent at a few skill positions as well as time to throw. Goff has virtually neither.

Bullshit. They paid a premium to upgrade the most important position in all of professional sports. They did this in order to give themselves A BETTER CHANCE to win a ring. As you have stated ad nauseum in defense of Goff, it is a TEAM game. Our TEAM is stronger after the trade. Let it gooooo..

McVay should run the score up to show them who's boss. Don't stop until Stafford has 8 TDs and Cooper Kupp has 5 receiving TDs.

Also, please..... PLEASE show me these examples of people saying Goff sucks. You act like that sentiment is rampant here... It's not. You see what you WANT to see in order to keep whining

Flew over Sofi this morning, en route to landing at LAX.... I'm so f***ing pumped to be in Los Angeles for a Rams game and possibly a Lakers game later the same night.
This will be our first Rams game weve attended since the year before the move... feels like a lifetime ago... heres a sad stat: Nicci and I have never been to game when the Rams were having a winning season. In fact, if I told you guys just how bad the Rams have been in games I've attended, you'd try to stop me from going! But ya cant!!! Go Rams!!!!

Score prediction: 42 - 8

Not really the case. Most think Goff has talent and puts together really good games from time to time. He'll definitely be motivated - or should be - so this could be where he has one of those great games, or he could have another stinker.

You definitely show a distaste for the trade. I get that. We gave up a lot to hopefully make the jump.

But your mantra is tired. You dwell on everything Stafford doesn't do perfect but ignore what really happened - tipped passes, etc... A QBs stats are what they are. You can watch every game and see possible INTs. I defended Goff on many of his.

You simply can't compare Goff to Stafford because neither's situation is the same as last year. I would say that Stafford has a better O-line but also makes them better by quicker processing. Goff has a total lack of talent around him including the O-line that barring injuries would have been pretty good and virtually no skill talent. Stafford IMO has a worse running game behind him than Goff had most of his time here.

Bottom line is that harping on any and every poor play by Stafford is wearing thin. And harping on members for getting behind Stafford is even thinner. It's getting really old.
