Maybe the Rams want to see what will happen in the first few games before making a move. Making the playoffs is a wing and a prayer this year so they may just think they'll only course correct when is abundantly apparent. Now, we can disagree on "abundantly" AND perhaps there wasn't a guy they liked enough that was available to change this strategy.

There's still time to make an addition but less likely now.
Teams will wait until after the first week to pick up players because if you sign a veteran and they are on your roster the first week of the season their contract is fully guaranteed.

Again, he had a really bad injury. Basically needed a whole new knee. I'm not going to give up on him when he's a second year player who basically lost a whole year. Yes, his game tape is bad, but he's a young offensive lineman.
I can deal with a few missed tackles early on, but watching him get so totally owned by a 2nd teamer, depressed me. It's why we got Kevin Dotson, imo.

Some people on this board will have a fit....Troy Reeder has returned.
I will say this, he is a high effort guy that makes the most of his physical abilities which are somewhat limited. He is the probably the only NFL player to graduate from Delaware.

Again, he's basically a rookie because he missed all of last year with a terrible injury. I can live with mistakes. I can live with a guy who tries his very best (unlike Bobby Evans). He's not going to be the starting guard I envisioned, but he could definitely be a good backup.

Not happy by this at all. I really thought highly of him, he was just behind the others. I would kept him let go of the lesser of the others.
I totally agree with you.

I've never been sold on Jordan Fuller, he's too slow in reacting, not a playmaker, he's nothing special and is overhyped.

He doesn't make splash plays and he's already reached his upside.

Johnson has a much higher ceiling. I also like Tanner Ingle more than Fuller.

Just being a veteran doesn't cut it with me. I want to see production.

Reeder is a big play waiting to happen. Unfortunately some of those go to the other team.
That said, he's better than half of the unknown guys we will have starting on D.

Just now I watched a little of Bruss' college tape, and the negative that stood out to me was his lack of balance. Just looked a bit clumsy out there, even when he won a play, he was prone to falling down. IMO his lack of balance was the worst thing about his preseason outings in the NFL.

Yeah, he has some "wow" highlights where he mauls people. But again, his overall lack of balance I thought was concerning.

Granted I've spent about ten minutes in my whole life "scouting" Bruss. So yeah I'll trust Snead and company saw a lot to like. But from the little I've seen, his lack of balance is a real issue.

Rich Gannon? Maybe?
…but I totally agree with your assessment of Reeder. I actually liked and appreciated his efforts.

In my view, Bruss has a ways to go to improve from "terrible" to just "bad." He has just been destroyed on several plays in preseason both last year and this year. Rag-dolled and knocked on his butt several times.

Then again, it's happened before... Brian Allen made tremendous improvement that I didn't think was possible. Maybe Bruss can improve as dramatically as Allen did, but he just has a long, long way to go.
well at least he won't be rehabbing the whole year. He can really work on strength and technique. Might payoff

Fair enough. Balance can be improved, though. I trust Snead and the scouts. Yes, the fourth round picks didn't seem to pan out, but guys like Ernest Jones look good, so I have faith in their third round selections.

Bruss still looks a little doughy to me.

Not sure if the injury hurt his ability to add strength, but he looks like he needs more NFL conditioning IMO.

Let's hope they are right. I am concerned. But then again - I am not a coach so....
I will be very surprised if we're not soft in that defensive front vs the run. Bottom line is they couldn't restack everything in one offseason. That's all this is. Something had to come up short so it ended up being the run defense.

That sort of makes sense too. Since the passing game is how you get points hung on you in this league. You can score with the run but you sacrifice clock time if you're too dependent on it. Plus we should have a good offense.

I think it is simply a gamble made by them due to knowing they couldn't have everything this season. And if it goes south they get a high pick which is fine by me.

Glad to see Tyler Johnson at least back on the PS. As far as stopping the run, points will help stop the run. Lets all hope Stafford can average 3-4 TD passes a game and Akers averages 1-2 TD per game. Chew some clock and put up 30+ points and teams will abandon the run.

I remember thinking the same about Reeder... high effort guy with not great ability regarding speed and change-of-direction, especially. But I don't recall many mistakes or bad tackles.

Coaches like to say that one play doesn't define a player, doesn't define who they are or what they stand for.
You be the judge:
