After looking at the first 44 picks of this Draft I can see why Mike Mayock seems to have come up with 40 - 50 players with 1st round grades!!

With the 45th overall pick the 49ers select... Stephone Anthony Linebacker, Clemson. @FRO is now on the clock.

PJ Williams would have been the pick here had he not just been arrested for DUI. There are too many holes to fill to throw in a guy here with huge character questions considering he drove drunk about a month before the draft. With Borland and Willis both gone, the recovering Bowman will surely need help anchoring this defense and the athletic Anthony will be able to step in and do that.

I don't think I realized the heavy emphasis on defense in this draft before now. I kept thinking of it as fairly deep in offensive talent like o-line and receiver, but man defense is seriously stout.

I'm going to have to watch it online again this year, will you guys be in the chat room here or elsewhere? I was thinking we could have a ROD (International) Draft Party, I'll get the t-shirts done ;)

You should start a thread on this when it gets closer to the draft. I'm sure we will be doing a live thread too. I'm probably watching it with some friends. We get pizza and beer, bet on picks and do our own mock draft before it starts. It's a pretty good time. Being a Rams fan, you gotta enjoy the draft, it's all we've had lol
