shaunpinney thinking about throwing a party:
hey guys, been away for the last few picks, but I'm liking them, what's everyone doing during the actual draft? I'm going to have to watch it online again this year, will you guys be in the chat room here or elsewhere? I was thinking we could have a ROD (International) Draft Party, I'll get the t-shirts done ;)
I might not even make it through this mock much less get to see the draft. My wife, bless her little Russian heart, scheduled, as a surprise for me, a trip to Jamaica mon. It starts on 25APR15 and lasts for a week. I'll miss the draft completely. I don't even know what to say to her that won't make her feel bad but I sure don't want to go. Non-refundable. :(     :(     :(

I'll ask her but frankly Stel, you kinda look like a radiation hazard warning sign. I'll just tell her you're really hot!

Maybe you'll make her homesick for Chernobyl.

Damn dude, that's awesome but sucks at the same time. You could always watch it there? If not, could you set your TV/DVR to record the draft while you're gone, and avoid TV/internet until you get back, and then watch it? I've done that before but it was hard as hell to stay away from all electronics. lol especially when you get a text from a friend and they ruin it all for you. :double:

Poor @Alan has to go Jamaica for a week. They have TVs there, btw. Oh, and a quick word of advise - don't buy weed from the shell guy. Buy it from the people who work at your resort. :shades:

Jamaica is... An experience. I've been and I'd say stick to the touristy areas. We decided to wander and only were threatened to be killed for looking at some guy. Also walking through town the locals will always try to get you to come by their home made wooden shit and t-shirts. Had some good food and beer and even had a little of that famous Jamaican weed, and it was great.

If anyone still holding a second round pick is interested in moving down in the draft, Oakland (holding the 4th pick in Round 3 [#68]) would be interested in moving up.

Thanks for the tips guys but my 13 year old daughter is going with us so no weed and my wife already has every minute planned out and nothing is optional. As far as she's concerned that is. I think I'm going to have to pretend like I don't feel good so I can watch at least one of the days. Probably the 2nd day. :(

At least my TV will be safe from my foot if we draft a DT at #10.

Ramhusker talking about quantity over quality:

With the exception of WR and LB I don't see the quality. Even Scherff who has the best ranking on the O-line is only rated at 6.49 with Peat in second place coming in at 6.29. That's the NFL.com rankings.

Trae Waynes is the top rated CB at only 6.36.
Fowler, the top rated LB comes in at 6.89.
Cooper (7.13) and White (6.95) are the top rated WRs. I think the O-line players are the lowest ranked I've seen in the last 10 years or more.

I think there are a lot of solid players but very few elite players. A good group to fill out your roster but don't look to fill your team with playmakers.

Nfl.com is usually the last place I trust for rankings. They're so incompetent.

Zierlein is new and he's doing a good job with it. His scouting reports are actually good from comparing my own notes.

And I must agree with @Alan this class isn't that strong. There's a top tier of talent(imo 8-9 guys) and then the next tier are guys that would go in the 15-50 range in a quality draft. This draft has a lot of risk. Could be one with a lot of busts in a few years...but if you get it right, you could be one of the lucky teams that ends up with a true "boom" pick. That's the issue with this class...a lot of guys with physical talent but almost all of them have red flags in a key area.
