If i had the car keys, my gameplan would be exactly how we'd draw it up with Goff vs Arizona. Roll the Wolf out, get him moving and use his mobility/escapability

i don't know what game plan might be used in this next game but i do love the wolf nick name

I'm in a similar situation. I've calmed down a lot over the years to where my reactions during the game are only 10% what they used to be. I wasn't even upset on Sunday - my wife was aware of the score and late in the game she was like "you seem.....okay".

This is what ROD should be - you and I can disagree about Goff but we're both still fans with common ground.

Amen brother.

And despite the rap I get here, we don't disagree that Goff has been getting worse and costing us games or that his play has been extremely disappointing or that his inability to curb the unforced turnovers is extremely concerning.

On all that - we definitely agree.

I will admit that I'm typically supportive of our guys until the team chooses to part ways. Even after that I really won't rip a player who was giving their all. Not at a personal level anyway.

I think where I and others really bump heads on the topic is that I think Goffs problems are just one ingredient in the shit sandwich the Rams offense has been serving. I see our line, our skill guys and our play calling to be part and parcel with our QBs struggles and I want to discuss those problems more because I don't believe the odds of us getting good QB play under these same circumstances are very high at all.

One thing that it's important to remember is that MCVAY doesn't tell Goff where to go with the ball. Goff has a read order and it's HIS job to dish it. The fact that he often settles for short yarders is more about the QB and the protections than it is the head coach or OC.

So re: Wolford going into a shell... I'll bet you that will not happen. Why not? Because he's going to get through the reads. He's fresh and won't be thinking self preservation. He'll be playing with his dick out.
Rock out with your Wolford out.
Who knows how prepared he will be for a real NFL game.
I meant McVay going Ultra conservative as a play caller.
Run, run, sceen, run, run, run, WR screen.
Plenty of punts mixed in.
Now, Wolford audibling out of a call and going downfield. That’d be a boss move.

I see people saying with the QB change we'll see longer passes and it aired out more. Is the play caller changing and did we add a WR with speed as well? None of that IMO will change this week and until the draft. Curious why people that think this way are saying this.

Naw, I don’t think that. I do think his increased mobility will extend plays and he has a quick release and can be accurate. If McVay can focus on Wolford’s strengths, it could be good. He’ll need a running gam, but Wolfy has to make them pay for stacking the box...

I've seen at least a dozen people make that claim in various threads since Sunday.

I know this thread is about Wolford, but is anyone worried that Arizona might be starting this guy? Umm, he won the Grey Cup (I'm Canadian, I actually know what that means lol), and he looks like a young Fitzmagic
I wouldnt be afraid of a young Fitzpatrick. The young Fitzpatrick sucked. He didnt become good until he hit 30
On a side note, there's no chance Murray wont start...

Well now there @fearsomefour I think you are on to something re: the play calls. McVay will definitely ensure he's sticking to the run at the least.

I don't want to be cocky, but it would be a gift imo. Guy threw 14 Ints to 8 TDs in Canada in 2019. We have a top 3 defense that is very adept at disguising coverages. It would be a very difficult first start for him. He is mobile, but we're already prepared for a mobile QB (because of Murray), so that wouldn't be something that could catch us off guard.
