Yeah because snapping your thumb in place while it’s dislocated (and broken it seems ) is not putting the team first ..and the fact you and other love to call him goof shows me your real agenda
Oh give it a rest man. No “agenda” here. Unless you mean I like it when my team wins.

You can make excuses for lack of execution, poor decision making, excessive turnovers, lack of situational awareness, and no pocket pocket presence all you want and I wont attack you for it. Hows that sound? Fair?

Not sure if it’s a typo or not but people calling him goof get not credit at all with the low intelligence attempt at an insult, so incredibly childish.

It a shame isnt it lol

I know one sure way to change that reality. Unfortunately, we wont see any improvement next week because he’s injured.

But he needs to sit regardless. Get his head right. Evaluate his current situation.

Wolford, although technically some coaches don't believe you lose you starting job if injured, but I would go with the hot hand, however, let's not put the cart before the horse.

Goff already shredded Arizona a few weeks ago. Wolford would have to be basically perfect for me to give him the start over Goff in the playoffs, assuming Goff's injury doesn't affect him too much.

I am hoping this is the case. As much as a Goff backer I am, if Wolford plays extremely well i would personally play the hot hand in the playoffs. A scrambling QB would potentially be more productive behind our blocking issues. Goff is a special talent but it does depend on solid protection and we don't have that. I also heard Mcvay mention some wrinkles possible for Wolford which by all indications are RPO's. The element of surprise may win a few games as we saw with Jalen Hurts.
The one thing I would caution on Tex, is Goff seemingly has his best performances vs AZ, so Let’s say JW lights it up also, on one hand that’s a good thing obviously, but on the other hand, our potential playoff opponent would have valuable game film

its a non issue if Goff somehow miraculously is ready for the wildcard round...and we will have our WC game

I'm working an event with Tim Tebow today. Maybe he can play for the Rams?

Damn auto correct. I meant maybe he could pray for the Rams....

I don’t know, I do however know I’m a homer, but I’m guessing if our line would perhaps afford just a little more time on a consistent basis, or we didn’t need to run so many boots (thus narrowing the field by 50%) perhaps sprinkle in a consistent run threat on early downs, it’s conceivable his head would miraculously get right pretty damn quick

yeah i agree he most likely does and he usually plays well against the cardinals.

but not going to lie - this team doesnt feel like its going anywhere status quo, especially on offense.

Im kind of up for seeing something different - even if its an epic fail.

IMO, Wolford will push the ball down field, something that no team has seen from a Ram QB on film recently. Add to this Murray's lower leg (slowing him down) and the outcome becomes more positive.

Now close your eyes and imagine a ball tossed 20 yards (or more) to a player wearing horns because that's what's coming....that and a few ball busting sprint outs by a QB who actually knows how (and when) to run...................................imagine that.

I don’t care about you criticising him .. I’ve done it myself ... I was a big proponent of of Gurley being done last year and I wasn’t afraid to say it .. but I still called him by his name .. I’m done with jrey and Everett but i still manage to not call them by dumb names .... like I said agenda

Agreed. Goff had 350+ passing yards and a nearly 80% completion percentage a few weeks ago against Arizona.

No one is making excuses for anything. Calling him a pussy is pretty dumb considering we know he isn't. He didn't "truck" the other guy because he has likely been instructed not to after attempting to make a man miss in the niners game and fumbling. It's not that hard or complex and probably shows a significant lack of trust from the coaching staff. But he isn't a pussy that's just silly.

Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess

Im not typically one to go outside the box, but in this moment Im comfortable with a day or three of silliness to get myself through the utter embarrasment that his play has been.

In the end, Im sure Wolford will get us into the show, and the starting quarterbacks unolanned break will help him to over come the mental part of life that almost ruined our season.

It’s only fair if you apply the same criticism to all other aspects of the team.
Or to players of same position on other teams.
And of course, giving credit when credit is due.

One of the worst aspects and timing of this injury is that we also are without our top 2 running backs. At least we could have leaned on Akers or Hendo, don't think we can lean on Brown to carry the offense as much. Haven't heard an update on Akers, but I assume a high ankle sprain is gonna cost him rest of season. Who knows, Wolford could give them a offensive boost and he might not be afraid to throw the ball over 10 yards.

I think that McVay should approach this Cards game as if it were a free roll. IOW, pull out all the stops.

Don’t handcuff Wolford with overly conservative play calling.
Run a trick play or two.
Maybe go for it on 4th down a time or two, also.
Try to tailor the play calls to better fit Wolford’s strengths.
I hope to see a lot of Jones carries. Hell, maybe even a handful of Calais snaps, too.
If Kromer has any bright ideas on how to snap this OL out of their funk, now is the time.
Entertain any asst coaches suggestions that might surprise the Cards D. IOW, break some tendencies, dammit!
Being unpredictable works to Rams advantage, so be unpredictable.

This could work, don’t you think?

What if Wolford plays great and wins the next game but Goff is healthy for the playoffs, who you think will start?
maybe im over worried about the thumb injury and its effect, but itd say Wolford. 2 weeks really doesnt seem long enough to totally overcome a broken thumb on throwing hand

Doesn't seem nearly enough time to a QB's thumb on his throwing hand.

I am thinking more for in the 6 week range.

This is the Nick Foles scenario.

It would tickle me no end to win a Super Bowl with John Wolford. I think this team deserves to be the story for once.

And...it has a real Heaven Can Wait vibe which totally works for me.
