Having a veteran line isn’t the worst thing, I guess.
OP looked good on stage maybe they can bring him back in a pinch.
Seriously after watching Slater and OP I’m spoiled for LTs. Whit is good but not what he used to be and no one on the roster after him is going to get HOF consideration.
At some point they need to invest there again. Thinking they can just get by while throwing away the few pucks they’ve got on picks like Tutu will not be a long term answer.
I want to be wrong but since they didn’t spend any draft capital on OL this year and with the people they stand to lose next year I think this will be a problem soon.
Not a fan of Evans yet, not starting at RG. I'll be happier if it's Anchrum or Brewer, but I reserve the right to change my mind following the pre-season games. jmo.
Evans may be better at Guard than RT.... but I'd like to see what Anchrum can do as well.
Gotta say Corbett has sure had a career rebirth with the Rams... He's an upgrade at Center for us over blythe, and we have options for that guard spot. I like seeing position battles with preseason games.
Evans and Anchrum should both get some decent reps as well.Well Corbett will be Staffords guy. Brian Allen & Coleman will be getting those preseason reps with Brewer & Demby upfront.
Shows you how good my memory is.Jackie Slater was a Right Tackle.
Agree that Pace looked like he could still play.
I am disappointed that they didn’t take one of the higher rated Centers or Guards. I’d have been very happy with a guy like Kendrick Green.
But the toughest part to swallow is using their first pick on a guy who is smaller than me. He better be amazingly fast because he literally will be running to save his career on every play. There is so much risk to that pick.
If not for Atwell’s size the lack of any Olinemen being drafted is a much easier pill to swallow.
It seems the fad in 2021 is itty bitty guys fast Swiss Army knives in the NFCW.I am disappointed that they didn’t take one of the higher rated Centers or Guards. I’d have been very happy with a guy like Kendrick Green.

They let both the starting C and oline coach go this offseason.i think it's obvious mcvay and snead blamed all the oline woes on goff.
Nah, I think they believe they have a young up and coming OL that needed help at C and this yr they will move a guy, who they believe is a little more stout and more suitable, to C because they feel they can replace him with some of the young depth they have at OG..

i've never seen a hc and gm throw their qb under the bus so willingly as they did once the season was over.
they both think once stafford is behind centre everything will work itself out.

It’s puzzling to think Mcvay could watch Evans performance last year vs Green Bay and conclude he would make a great starting guard for us.
It’s like a repeat of the overconfidence they had in Noteboom at guard last year.
Maybe Anchrum or Shelton can win the job.
Evans pass blocking will be a massive liability, unless he was visited by the magic blocking fairy in the offseason.

So with some tweaks they must feel they can upgrade that OL with the guys they have developed the last two yrs.
