Just heard on espn that rams are trying to trade for stafford. Could just be a rumir
Please only let this be a rumor. If we give up picks for Stafford, I'll lose a lot of faith in this front office.

I hope the Rams aren't judging players on stats and who was "top 10" and they're watching the tape
I'd be surprised if the Rams did anything other than a courtesy call to kick the tires. Because I think McVay wants mobility and you don't get that with Stafford.
Remember that playoff game stafford won? Yeah me neither
It may still go down that way. Maybe McVay looks at things differently after he simmers down. The dude takes losses hard.I am amazed that Stafford suddenly became a good QB at age 32 almost 33. Imagine if we stick with Goff how good he'd be at 33 considering he's already better than Stafford. The only "good" thing about Stafford is he's cheap.
My bet is that Snead told Holmes he can leak this to try and get the 49ers to raise their offer. It hurts SF and helps a friend. I don't see a scenario where this move makes much sense.
So since our 26 yr old QB has "turnover issues" on yrs 4 & 5 of his career we will trade for a guy who in his 4th & 5th yr of his career threw 17 & 19 Ints.It may still go down that way. Maybe McVay looks at things differently after he simmers down. The dude takes losses hard.
Note that I don't think that is likely after Snead's conference. But never know.
I just I can't even fathom thinking Stafford at his age with his past is an upgrade over Goff it's baffling. It may still go down that way. Maybe McVay looks at things differently after he simmers down. The dude takes losses hard.

And that was with Calvin Freaking Megatron Johnson to throw too!!!So since our 26 yr old QB has "turnover issues" on yrs 4 & 5 of his career we will trade for a guy who in his 4th & 5th yr of his career threw 17 & 19 Ints.
To make this more clear... Goff threw 29 INTs the last two yrs... Stafford, at the same point in his career, threw 36.
Oh, and he only threw 3 less last yr than Goff did.

Those same 2 years Stafford threw 49 TDs to Goff's 42 TDs....

Using math, they're basically the same guy.
2 things.
1. I keep thinking this thread is titled "Trade for Saffold?" and every time I think, hell yeah get Saffold back! Every time I'm disappointed.
2. @jrry32 you'll never convince me McVay is smarter than Jim Bob Footer!
Worst move Rams could do. Goff is way better than Stafford. Stafford had mcl surgeries in 18/19. He was been in 3 playoff games in 11 years. He is a total underachiever.

Saffold would do more for the Rams' offense than Stafford.

It's one thing to say their stats are more or less equivalent and another to say they're the same qb. But it begs the question, what exactly would Stafford bring to the table that Goff doesn't?
I haven't heard anyone anywhere offer any explanation of why the Rams might be interested in Stafford (if they actually are). It seems to make no sense.
Is McVay that desperate just to get rid of Goff? I hope not.
