I kind of like the trade a bit more realizing that the Giants have the 2nd pick in the 4th & 6th rounds, making them a lot closer to 3rd & 5th round picks. And yes, Ogletree was a big reason why our run defense was so poor last year. That said, we sure as heck better have a wink wink deal with one of the FA MLB's that fit the scheme better.

This is a complete defensive rebuild ln a team that just won the division. I trust these coaches but I'm honestly a little scared

A rebuild that we didn't need to make. We had a good 4-3 defense before Wade got here and tried to fit square pegs (safeties playing LBs) into round holes.

Funny, that safety played at LB in the 4-3 already Wade just moved him inside.

We got their comp pick in the 4th. :(

Kind of surprised as I thought Tree was likeliest to stay.

But, as last year showed, poor performing units are going to see extensive changes in order to improve.

This is a most welcome approach.

I bet the run defense will make a jump similar to last year's revamped WR and OL units.

Dave, Draftek didn't account for a 'conditional' pick with Pittsburgh where the Giants received a 6'th (#176) and Pitt received a 7'th (#220). That 6'th (#176) came to us today. Also, that 4'th round pick looks like it may actually be the Giants #135 pick, not the #102 pick we were hoping for. jmo.
Now I'm really confused!!

Yeah, where you need a big run stuffer, and instead we got ran over all season.
My point was you criticized Wade for trying to fit a square peg in a round hole by moving Barron from safety to linebacker but that was actually Williams.

I wonder if Snead will be able to pull a trade with Tavon. Maybe Rams eat a bit of his salary and get a . . . Get this. . . 6th rounder?

Been a busy day at work combined with another blizzard in the Upstate Northeast Region, (can't wait to relocate to Fort Worth, TX) Anyway totally confused by this trade and not sure what direction they are going in. Rams really had trouble against the run and it's quite obvious they are cleaning house and working on cap room to sign the likes of Donald, Gurley and maybe Watkins as well.

Anyway I shall await free agency and the draft before passing judgment, but I was always an Alec Ogletree fan and with the extension, thought he would be a Ram for a longer period of time. I do believe he's a natural outside linebacker in the 4-3 and IMO, will be an upgrade for the New York Football Giants. Let us trust the process with hope that Harold Wade Phillips at 71 in June is up to this rebuild and now we all know why Wade was spending a ton of time at the combine.
