So Ram, don't forget you have a bet with me. 10,000 ROD $$ on if DWilliams makes the final 53. If he does, you win. IR and practice squad doesn't count.

I have the posts flagged in my favorites where you and I accepted the wager.

Final 53 cutdown will be after the 4th pre-season game.

If you go to the betting exchange https://ramsondemand.com/betting-exchange/ you can set up the bet more formally there.

Really though. We see this pretty much the same, and I couldn't have written it better.

No worries the Sad part is I didn't realize it until I was half way through it.

It could happen earlier. You could be right ?
The depth chart cameout this week. Tonight is the first test.

Jared Goff is not starting , so Lucas does not have McVays confidence. Noteboom will get first team Reps Wednesday’s during the season.

My only hope is Williams is totally on the right side. I did see him take Reps as 2nd string RT & RG Demby has been more in at LG ?

I guess the post below shows how to set it up. I’m good on this, but the website change has made it not as fun to follow, plus I spent to much time watching Williams during live Reps.

I think he has improved, but footwork & technique are not desirable .

Tonight is a big test for the backups !!

Bet everything!
So Ram is going to get torched on this! :D

LMAO — I don’t know what everyone is talking about ?? Neary starts at LG & Williams starts at LT !!

Brown at RG & LUCAS gives up a SACK playing RT ????

Williams took all the Reps last season at LT on Wednesday’s & all off OTA’s When Whitworth took a day off.

I went to camp & watched reply’s on the peplay screen & watched Williams play.

Tell me what your watching ??

All good , but I do have to trash talk a little. I’m just calling it as I see it.

—Last year I posted about The Big 5 when everyone was saying how bad The Offensive Line was. They were a big piece of success from last season.
I made the wager thinking out side of the box & against what the Press think .

I put it on the board but had a little trouble on wager. Then I missed the one play I was waiting to see. What happened on the Mannion fumble ?

i got around to watch the late NFL airing of the Rams Ravens game tonight.

i focused solely on Oline and honestly didn’t even watch the defense. Just rewinded every play on offense until i could determine what each olineman was doing and how well he did it.

Here are my General Observations:

The Bad:

1 Brian Allen won’t make it at this level. disappointing to say it but he was getting manhandled more than a few times vs the pass and in the run game. I was
for the draft pick but when your getting manhandled vs second stringers it’s not a good sign.

2 Lucas - still can’t handle edge rushers.
Too bad because he has some redeeming qualities.

The Good:

1 Jamil Bemby #64- Best Olineman on film last night. Its only one preseason game vs backups but boy was he solid vs run and pass. his wide body work really does remind you of Saffold. He also plays some solid RT.

2 Jake EldrenKamp #60- Just like last preaseason, Jake was solid. Nothing Dominant here, but he is consistent, scheme conscientious, quick on his feet and solid hand usage. Great backup Depth for sure at Guard and Center.

Other:

Williams looked OK
Neary has potential but had more than a few down plays.

So Ram asks, " what happened on the Mannion fumble?" Your man, DWilliams, let the DE get around him untouched.

Neither DWilliams or Lucas fared very well last nite. Both played LT and RT. Blythe Noteboom and Demby got beat several times but played well for the most part. Allen played C and LG and is much better as a C.

What about Noteboom? He looked good at times playing LT !! Dude gets low &?squares up . Works hard to get better. Has size &?power. Maybe a little raw at times.

That was Terril Suggs he was going up against., no excuses though.

That's a shame. That was one of the knocks against him making the step up to the big boys. Appreciate the review for those of us who haven't seen the game.

Ugh. We needed him to pan out.
It's early and that's pretty much what I would expect most rookie offensive lineman to look like against another team's ones.

I don't really count on rookie offensive lineman being able to do ANYTHING.

If Noteboom and Demby pan out, that's about all we can ask for.

After watching last night looks like Blythe will move into the starting RG spot for the first 2 games with Brown out. Allen, Noteboom, Demby & Lucas look like the backups.
Still 3 games to go, Eldrenkamp & Neary could move Lucas off the team, provided Demby can handle the backup RG/RT spot.

I don't think that is going to matter. If something were to happen to Big Whit, then Saffold will move over and they'll fill the LG spot from the depth. Williams is a UFA after the season, he's got bad feet, and is out of time. Lucas is in a tough spot too, but comes with another year of control so will likely be that last slot if they keep 9.

Like I told Den there is no way I'd recommend someone go back and watch that game again but Allen was similar to the other two tbh, did some good things and some not so good things. Basically played like a rookie. With him as an example, he held up as well as Neary but comes with cost efficiency, upside and control.

I actually think all three drafted OL will make this team, as things stand right now. But again there's a long ways to go, so no reason to make sweeping judgments just yet.

I thought Noteboom looked the best of the bunch last night.

Solid post !! Makes a lot of sense. Yeah - Williams vs Lucas is interesting. The contracts and control are huge issues. Leaving Williams as a FA so long speaks volumes, plus having foot issues. It shows in his balance & play.

Noteboom is the future though. I don’t think Saffold would be switched to LT, especially since he does not take any reps there at all with Kromer.
He opens up a lot of holes for Gurley playing LG & I don’t see that changing.

As far as the rookies , McVay really likes the 3 drafted a lot.
