Brewer with his history opting out makes a ton of sense. Best of luck to him and his staying healthy.

Was thinking, he was a bubble player at best, opting out guarantees him $150k this year. Actually surprised more bubble players don't.

They should be ready to go in a couple of weeks. It's going to happen best to get it out of the way now.

Following the dream! He had a legit chance imo of at least a PS spot.

Don't the high risk players get $300k? The lower amount is for players that just opt out for no reason.

Michael Hoecht is on that list and I hope he is able to return. This kid is legit and IMO can provide quality depth behind AD. He's got strength and similar speed and quickness as AD. If AD can mentor this kid he has all the tools to become a true beast. Hoecht can also play outside and IMO would provide security should the Rams lose Ebukam as a FA. Moving Hoecht outside will allow the Rams to move Lewis into that SAM OLB role. This is the kind of positional versatility that the Rams have in their roster. It will serve them well during the COVID season and into the future. I was surprised that Hoecht wasn't drafted.

I'm not surprised Brewer opted out and think it's a wise decision on his part. Just gives him another year to train and IMO he has a future in the NFL I only hope he can stay with the Rams.

I don’t agree about what your saying up top. Player evaluation still baffles me. I guess will see during the season how it plays out.

Brewer I totally agree with & think the year off will do him good. He looked weak at RT The last Rams game. Told Bonifay’d that as well.

My question is how it works on The Rams leverage with him ? He wasn’t drafted either.

Doesn't look like Lewis will miss much time!!!! Great news!!!!

Lewis, a third-round draft pick who starred at Alabama, began training camp on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. McVay said Lewis has been allowed into the Rams’ facility and, if he remains asymptomatic for three days, will be allowed to participate in “everything football related.”

Lewis is expected to compete for playing time opposite edge rusher Leonard Floyd. Fourth-year pro Samson Ebukam, who has started 21 games, is the most experienced player in a group that also includes Obo Okoronkwo and Natrez Patrick.

Lewis is one of nine rookies who have yet to be evaluated in a full-speed setting. Running back Cam Akers, wide receiver Van Jefferson, tight end Brycen Hopkins, offensive lineman Tremayne Anchrum, linebacker Clay Johnston, defensive backs Terrell Burgess and Jordan Fuller, and kicker Sam Sloman are others.

The Rams have another week of acclimation phase activity before they begin ramping up for practices, which begin Aug. 18.

With the preseason canceled, they are preparing for the Sept. 13 opener against the visiting Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football.”

“We’re certainly excited about when that time will come to be able to practice and do some of these things in a full-speed setting,” McVay said.

That IS great news! IF, Lewis can stay COVID FREE & HEALTHY I really think he will get a lot of playing time this season and prove to be a Huge Asset to the Rams Defense!!!

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson tests positive for COVID-19, per report

The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the Baltimore Ravens this past week, and it now has reportedly affected their best player. On Thursday night, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson tested positive for the coronavirus. The Ravens were scheduled to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night, but the league was forced to reschedule the matchup due to the Ravens' COVID-19 outbreak. The decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game-day personnel and in consultation with medical experts. The game as of now is scheduled for Sunday at 1:15 p.m. ET and it will remain on NBC and broadcast nationally.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, four more Ravens players and one more staff member have tested positive for COVID-19 -- which should include Jackson. While the game against the Steelers has already been moved to Sunday, the chances of it being played are reportedly "diminishing quickly." Several Steelers players took to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the league's decision to originally reschedule the matchup, and one can only imagine what they would feel like if the game is moved yet again.

The Ravens are dealing with several positive COVID-19 tests between players and staff that have been reported, and it was already known that they would be without their top two running backs in Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins if the game was to be played on Thanksgiving. Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network reported on Wednesday that the Ravens would've also been severely limited on the offensive line if they indeed played on Thursday. ESPN's Dan Graziano reported that seven players tested positive before Thursday, including Pernell McPhee, Trace McSorley, Matt Skura, Patrick Mekari and Calais Campbell.

Baltimore has now lost two straight games, including a 30-24 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans this past Sunday. That loss dropped them to third place in the AFC North behind the Cleveland Browns and Steelers, and this latest development certainly casts doubt on when they will be able to take the field next.
