I wouldn't worry about anything until an outcome is reached...

From the get go I've never worried that the Rams are leaving St.Louis, especially since it's the only city of three teams thats actively trying to build a stadium.

And until I see something that actually that says the Rams are moving from the NFL, no point in getting worried about it. We're gonna continue to hear a bunch of rampant speculation through the media (whatever drives in the most drama = the most clicks)..Just let it play out - there's a lot of buzz that thinks the NFL isn't going to allow Kroenke to move, and even if Kroenke doesn't want to play nice with the Stadium comittee (though he said he would), Art Rooney (chairman of the stadium committee) believes they can legally block it. (Not to mention how the NFL is going to look allowing a team to move when their current city is trying to build them a stadium).

Bottom line: there's a lot of hurdles and obstacles that have to be overcome before anything will actually occur, and quite frankly I don't think the Rams are leaving St.Louis as long as there's a stadium on the table.
I can't profess to know how fans like Lagatron feel. I've never lived in STL and have never had season tickets.

But I agree with you on waiting things out.

This truly is going to be a roller coaster ride.

Let's recap a few ups and downs...

* Stockbridge Capital Group (note: NOT Kroenke or anyone from his group) annouces plan to build a stadium in Inglewood
* Peacock and associates announce a new stadium plan for STL
* Governor Nixon announces approval (in principle) to move railroad tracks and power lines for new STL stadium
* Chargers and Raiders announce proposal to build a stadium in Carson
* Inglewood approves stadium in Inglewood

Up.... down... up... down...

Goose (who is doing an outstanding job of keeping us informed) posted a tweet from Peacock that they will be announcing more news about the STL stadium shortly.

This is how it's going to continue for the foreseeable future, IMO. Not for the faint of heart or those that are prone to being worried.

Of course, then there's the media. The "what-iffing" that just makes matters worse, IMO. Just like they are doing with the Bradford rumors... and the Dez Bryant mess today.

My unsolicited advice? Scrape off the facts as they unfold and ignore the rest.

You mighbt just find you sleep better at night! :)

Yeah that's exactly right. It would also be great if LA fans weren't being cocky and arrogant about this too. I'm not even from St.Louis and it just bugs the crap out of me to watch them gloat and not give a shred of a crap how Stl fans feel. It makes me hate them and not want to watch the Rams if they move. Not to mention, I have to buy ALL NEW crap. Who's paying for that? I have thousands of dollars in STLOUIS Rams gear accumulated over years and years. Is it just worthless now? I know LA fans went through the same thing, and I really do feel bad that they lost two teams. But for god sake, build the Rams, keep them in one city and become a premiere team for years to come. I mean, how long do they stay in LA for? Another 20 years and then they move back again? It's a giant clusterfuck and they just don't care.
Man, imagine the trolling the cocky LA fans will receive if the Rams don't actually move. Actually, they may not get trolled because they likely won't come around the message boards anymore. NOTE: I'm talking about the cocky LA fans only.

However, for the life of me I cannot figure out why the CVC passed on making upgrades of $700 million dollars to the EJD with assistance from the Rams and now the City is willing to build an open air stadium the cost close to 1 billion dollars?

I guess it's like anything else things don't get done until somebody pushes and pushes for others to take notice and get involved.

Because the Dome is another source of revenue - the cost between upgrading and building a new stadium at that point isn't that much difference. It makes a lot of sense both economically and from a business perspective to just build a new stadium and use the old one as another source of income for the city.

Den,
I don't think there was any financial assistance from the Rams to make the upgrades. They were not obligated to contribute based on the terms of the lease the money had to come from the CVC which they didn't have. Also the construction on the dome would have made the convention center unusable for 3 years costing the city millions in lost conventions and potential repeat business. It really made no sense. One of the biggest bonuses to the Rams playing in a new stadium is not the convention center can be used year round.

Well I can only speak for myself. But if I had to deal with them giving me shit about the Rams moving. You better believe I'm gunna throw it right back in their face if they don't move. If you can't take it, don't dish it out. I agree with @iced though. I totally understand how it's more likely for them to stay with a stadium being built in the Lou. I think I'm one of the many people who are sick of being pushed around like a two dollar whore.

I know others have said it already but KD did warn us that this was going to get ugly before it was over and to hold on to the roller coaster.

Okay, so you say this makes them better financially. The NFL has rules against relocating if you're just trying to make a quick buck. St.Louis supports the Rams very well for how crappy they've been. I'm only comparing them to LA because there's way more to do in California. Would you rather go to the beach or watch a 2-7 football team? I really don't believe they're concerning themselves with these things. Do you realize how much tickets will cost? I certainly can't afford $200 nosebleeds. The Rams are finally building something great in St.Louis and they just wanna take that away? What if the players don't wanna move? There's too many unanswered questions. The Rams will lose a ton of fan base including people like me who have lived and died by this team through thick and thin. It's not fair to take them away because Stan is worried about his wallet. They're all greedy freaking bastards.

I get your frustration, I would feel the same if i was in your shoes. It's not even set in stone they are leaving so I dont really even get the LA hate Honestly. Imo if Stan has his mind set on staying in STL or leaving to where ever thats what hes going to do, Doesn't matter what you or I think.

Edit: FWIW I would rather go see a football game than be at the beach.

Yeah - much like we have warned them, let's just not go there. They won't be trolled here just like the St Louis fans will not be trolled if the team moves. If they did, it would be a very quick exit strategy.

The trolling (elsewhere) from both sides is rediculous. For every cocky LA fan, there's a cocky St Louis fan, for every move in LA's direction there's movement in St Louis's direction, for every shot at LA, there's shots at St Louis. It's a shame because this issue has divided the fan base, and looking around it gets to the point where you go into "enemy" territory and get attacked without even saying anything bad just because where you are from. Very unfortunate, and it sucks this probably goes on for over a year until we get a final decision. Its been less than 2 months since the announcement but it feels like forever.

Gonna be a really long year.

Not here at ROD. With proper moderation that can be avoided. Originally I didn't want to deal with this topic here for fear of exactly what you said but when we stay on top of this thread on a daily basis, it can indeed be an intelligent, non-divisive conversation on a potentially explosive topic.

even on Instagram the trolls are horrendous. Every time a player or the team posts some kind of picture having to do with football, all bets are off and the same few start getting into it. Doesnt seem to happen when CLong post pics tho

As long as we keep buying tickets and watching games on TV they don't care.

Gonna be a long year in more ways than one, plus there are cocky New Yorkers like myself who keep listening to that song by Mary MacGregor "Torn Between Two Lovers."

Well I'm talking about the casual fan. And I apologize for coming at you like that. But you're right. I'm frustrated. The Internet has absolutely murdered any type of optimism in people these days. Including myself.

This is exactly right! There are plenty of trolls to go around.... on both sides. It's unfortunate. I for one want the Rams to come back to L.A. After last nights vote, I'm more confident then ever. To me... all of the 'dots' have been lining up in one direction for a long time. Hope springs eternal... until the hammer comes down on one side or the other.

Now. If for any reason the Rams stay in St. Louis, I'll be the first to congratulate the true fans that are there (I ignore trolls). And, as always, I will continue to support the St. Louis Rams. But if they come back to L.A., I certainly hope that the fans in St. Louis will follow, and continue to support the team.

I also would MUCH prefer to attend a Rams home game, then to go to the beach (there are other days of the week to do that).
