Uche is my guy on defense and if I had to make sure the Rams took one guy it would be him and hopefully at 57 (52 I would use for the highest player on the board because someone is going to fall to us and maybe not a position we want).

The Rams took a big loss with Fowler's departure in FA. His play in 2019 was excellent and replacing not only his rush but his range and speed is crucial. Josh Uche is more physical than guys who are bigger than him, has some bend and burst in his rush style, brings exceptional range/speed, and is outstanding when tracking and tackling in space which is important in a division that has 2 mobile QBs (and tbh I wouldn't rule out SF drafting another one).

He should be on the board come 57 too which is why I go with him. There are some others who might drop to us due to teams snapping up OTs and WRs early, guys like Murray/Queen (ILBs) or Baun (Edge). And the Rams might favor a guy with more pass rush upside in Okwara.

That is the thing with Uche... The upside. I don't think he can add weight as he matures and become a more dangerous rusher because of his 6' 1" frame and the fact his game is predicated on speed. But he can do a bit of everything and bring a flexibility for shaping the scheme vs each opponent that Staley will covet. And he is very physical, an element that favors him off ball along with his speed and pursuit ability. This guy is a plug and play addition that makes our defense better and can be moved around and stay on the field all three downs.

If the Rams move down from 57 and haven't addressed Edge then they need to get one with the next tier of which I prefer Anae. The problem with Anae, however, for all his natural pass rush skill, is that he doesn't have the plus mobility you get with Uche. This is why he's a tier lower IMO. And why Uche should be in play for us at 52/57 or maybe even after a little drop down.

Here's a different take. I desire a higher 2nd rd pick myself. My thoughts on the Rams top draft pick........I would hope that Snead is working on a trade partner to make the 2nd rd.#52 our second selection in that round.

My thoughts are that there are a few teams who are need of an experienced effective run blocking RT. Miami's OL in 2019 was @ the bottom in rushing yards. Two teams I would be active working up a trade deal ahead with are Detroit Lions & Miami Dolphins. Miami owns this draft (so they say) with the most draft value accumulated of all NFL teams. If Miami does not select an OT with one of its 3 first round picks they could be interested in 5 yr starter Rob Havenstein.

Projected 2020 Dolphins offensive line :
Left Tackle – Julien Davenport
Left Guard – Ereck Flowers
Center – Ted Karras
Right Guard – Michael Deiter
Right Tackle – Jesse Davis (who is really a OG)

I would offer up Hav & the Rams 2nd #57 for Miami's 2nd #39. Same type of trade offer to the Lions. If the Lion do not take a OT with their first pick then make the same offer to them. Hav & the Rams 2nd #57 pick for their 2nd #35 pick.

Now the Rams top selection will be a very early 2nd rd pick thus making our 2nd #52 our second selection on Friday evening.(y)

Cant name just 1, I'd love one of these guys, however I think they will all be gone before #52
Chase Claypool
JK Dobbins
Julian Okwara
I think it's 50/50 that Dobbins is gone. There's a lot of chatter that Edwards-Helaire could go before him and that could definitely put Dobbie in the Rams wheelhouse.

I love all the Michigan players in this years draft, from Uche to Ruiz to late round guys like Metellus, Hudson, and Hill

If Uche is drafted by us that would be epic

Im listening I like that idea more them unloading him for a 4th or 5th as some posters have stated. I would have been better but maybe you guys are better at compensation.

So who would you take at 35 or 37 it really opens up a lot.

ILB - For me there are not many u want at those slots other than Murray or Queens as LBs if somehow they drop but I doubt it.

C - Ruiz if he is heads and tails above the next best which I believe is Cushenberry. Not sure Ruiz is better originally when drafting was beginning Ruiz was between 3-6th best.

G - no

T - no because already at least 5 will be off the board so are we really getting someonew

RBs - not sure any I like Taylor but has a lot of mileage to go with his massive production.
I think Helaire maybe at 52.

OlB - like Baun but he really is I think a 4-3 DE. No one here.

CB/S - No CB and only if McKinney slips, but unfortunately we would be sacrificing a real need at RB, ULB, OLB, C.

WR - none I would not take one at all except someone who is a great punt returner and our 6th wr later in the draft.

QB - I would consider taking Jalen Hurt and I know you will all say I am going against my philosophy and we don't need a QB. But guys I really love this guy he is being totally overshadowed in this draft by all the other QBs he is a super winner ran for 20 TDs. Worst we have an amazing BU if Goff goes down. Or maybe we hold onto him develop him and get a late first rounder in a couple years. Or we trade him for a a nice draft capital, because we definitely screwed up some teams plans.

To me I love your thought we still own another 2nd, but unless someone falls like Ruiz, Queens or Murray I feel we are in no mans land.

Love to hear your thoughts.

Agreed UK. Or even a Rapp like impact. Was watching the Rams vs Bears (2019) this morning to get a look at certain down/distance packages on defense and it was a nice reminder of what a good player Rapp was for us and what he might be this next year.

Here's hoping we have a great weekend because by God we need it lol. :horns:

Almost certain to be a RB, LB, G, or T.

RB is where the most value will be but the other areas are more important.

For me, it's one of the following:

Hennessey Center
Hunt OG
Uche OLB
Malik Harrison ILB

I would love to land both Hunt and Hennessey since we could really put a dent in our line with these guys. Hunt throws dudes out the club, he's a mammoth, and Hennessey really looks sound and polished on film. Plus he scored the highest OL wonderlic with a 34, and you know Kromer loves him some smart dudes at center!

We can address OLB/ILB in the third. Would love to somehow land Fotu and a top kicker later on for added competition. We'll see! Also, another name I like is James Morgan. Qb who for some reason gives me that gut-feel of a mid round steal ala Brady or Wilson-not quite their success of course, but something tells me he's going to be a starter in this league and do well/outperform his draft spot. Maybe a Cousins? I heard an interview from him on XM too and man, this kid had it above the neck for sure. Could do wonders behind Goff and learning under McVay.

I’ll wait till tomorrow, when things are clear. Let’s just see if The Rams trade up. It won’t happen though, mainly because of the salary cap.

Nice list. Hennessy has got to be one of the safest picks possible tbh. Just seems like a very low risk of missing on him and I can get behind that. Plus it would be cool to see someone push Blythe in camp. IMO he needs that, since he tends to play better up until the position is "his."

And I'm with you on "Captain" Morgan at QB. At one point he was my big sleeper at QB but it didn't take long for teams to show enough interest to where I think he won't last that long. He is 4th on my QB list btw. And maybe I know nothing. But if I'm taking a QB I would select him before Fromm, Eason, Hurt, Love, etc., each of whom have things in their game I don't like.

I'm rolling w/ @NERamsFan and his list. I want to get fat & sally along the OL. Were it becomes our strength of our team. Front 7 needs needs a couple of mid rd selections imho also. Having Hunt helping Big Whit out and knowing to his right is a stud OC. dreaming out loud here

Hennessey Center
Hunt OG
Uche OLB
Malik Harrison ILB
