Judah has been rocking The Cone Of Shame since last week. Something bit one of his paws and he wouldn't stop licking the damn thing... which just made it worse. Vet has him on roids that he is almost finished with and a special solution that his paw gets soaked in for 15 minutes twice daily. He's about done having to wear it now. The paw is all healed, we just need to make sure that he doesn't go back to licking it again.

You can see his look of pitifulness in his eyes. Hell, his fro is even flat from the damn cone. Poor boi...

Well, my folks’ house is kinda hectic since they have Fane and four cats. Bravest/maybe-dumbest cat is probably Smoky; he’s the only one who goes into the gated area when Fane’s there. Of course, he’ll meow to get the attention of the humans, but he’ll also hiss at Fane who just wants to play with him.

Then there’s Ymir, who thinks “if I remain really still, he won’t see me.” He’s…not the smartest. Yes, the cat who learned “sit” and “stay” from my sister…really has no common sense.

Amber remains upstairs. I haven’t seen her, but my mom says she and Smoky play with each other at night.

Destiny may just be the smartest of the cats; she’ll go up to Fane while he’s in the kennel for the night and taunt him, while receiving love from my mom
and dad.

Of course, Fane doesn’t really mind any of the cats; they’re fellow friends he can play with in
his mind. He’s very gentle with them, though. He really is a good boy.

An acquaintance picked up this little stray. They took him to the vet. No chip. They put it on Nextdoor, Facebook, Animal Shelter, etc. about a found dog. No one came forward to claim him. They had him for a month but said they could no longer take care of him. They were about to take him to the pound. One that euthanizes.

I told her don't do that. Let me take care of him. If anyone comes forward just give them my number. Well, its been a month with us and a month with her. Two months. Pretty sure no one wants to claim him.

We fell in the love with the little guy so he's ours. We named him Henry. He's just a lovable little guy with a lot of playful energy. He's got plenty of personality. Definitely full chihuahua at under 6 pounds. That one bent ear gives him character. Almost like a cartoon dog. Welcome to the pack Henry!

He looks adorable! I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want the little guy. But then again, some asshole dumped Destiny at a Red Lobster in the middle of winter, and she was litter trained and everything, so I know humanity can be cruel and awful sometimes, especially regarding our four-legged friends.

Not when it comes to 49er fans!!

But yeah, this little guy hops up and want to curl up in my lap. Or he dances for a treat. I have a soft spot for dogs. I hope all dogs really do go to heaven. They deserve it more than a lot of people.

Like the song says "There's two things you can count on. Good ole dogs and God".

My wife is what you call a crazy cat lady. I have given in since she has MS and the cats help her from feeling too depressed.

Let's just say we have a lot of cats.

We also had two dogs who got along great with the cats. Only if they came close to their bowls while eating would they get a little snippy. Those two dogs are gone now along with a lot of the cats but we keep seeming to pick up more cats from someone or other.

We only take in cats and dogs that no one else wants or are trying to give away.

No need for an alarm clock with Henry. We usually get up around 6 in the morning. Henry knows it. So he's on the bed 6 AM sharp every morning climbing all over me to get me up. The other day he even grabbed the sheet I cover up with and tried to pull it off me to get me up. No sleeping in with that guy.

But thats ok. I need to take Roadie for her morning walk. It gets hot pretty quick. Been doing it early enough. Not to mention I can get out to the golf course earlier when I want to play.

one of the many things I miss about my Max..when the alarm went off at 5:25 for the wife...Max would hop in bed and curl up next to me and go back to sleep until 6:30.... now when the alarm goes off at 5:25... Augie just harasses me to get up as soon as the wife is out the door

I remember when Guapo used to be annoying barking at the slightest sound. Every time I tell him to stop he'd always get the last word with a muffled bark under his breath. Funny that now that he's gone I wish I could hear that bark one more time.

Judah got to spend a few nights over at @Ramrasta 's house last week when I was down in Miami. The Cone Of Shame has been removed and he's almost as good as new... well, except for his hair (he's going to his groomer tomorrow).

"Cali" is the beautiful tiny schnauzer (Ramrasta's dog). She is completely fearless of everything even though she's only like 8 pounds. She LOVES her uncle Judah and was so happy to have him at her house.

I thought I was doing the right thing but now I'm not so sure. When I was walking my dog Roadie this morning there was a small dog that was following us around the park. Looked like a chihuahua/terrier mix under 15 pounds. I noticed he had a tag. He was friendly and let me get close enough to check the tag. There was only an address on it. Its about a mile away.

So I go to the address and the lady said its not her dog. It belonged to the people who used to live there. She said the dog showed up there 3 times in the last few months. He wanted to go back to his old home.

Anyway, she gave me the owner's number. I got the address and took him their. This guy opens the door and says thanks for bringing him. I put the dog down in the doorway and he freaked out and tried to take off. I still had the leash on his collar. When I tried to pick him up he went from the friendliest dog to aggressive and acted like he wanted to bite me. I calmed him down, took the leash off and put him back in the doorway. The guy yelled at him and pushed him through the doorway. A young girl picked him up and carried him to another room.

That bothered me. This dog was so friendly. I brought him home to figure out how I'm gonna get him back home. He jumps on the couch and climbs on my lap. Rolls over and lets me rub his belly. He was a very loving, friendly little guy. But when I got him back to his home he changed. He was afraid. His tail tucked between his legs when the guy yelled at him. I drove off wondering if I was doing the right thing. Now I'm gonna be thinking about that little guy.

Chihuahuas are usually very protective around their humans... even super aggressive.

When you were with the dog away from the owners... he was fine. Then, the switch kicked on when his humans were added to the mix. Hopefully that's all it was.

You did all you could by taking him back to his owners. Sounds like the dog is confused about the move and is just trying to go back to the place he thought was his permanent home.
