I really didn't expect much from TuTu on offense this year, given all the guys ahead of him. But I was really hoping he could do something in the return game, and the fact that he's not bothers me.

Atwell comments at the end. Practicing hard is one comment. Doesn't sound all that bad to me.
It isn't as bad as the one quote out there. But he went to that well twice saying Atwell has work to do and to end it with the urgency comment for sure doesn't paint Atwell in anything remotely positive. Two different questions and twice he was critical of him.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, definitely not a fan of the pick. Super small frame like his in the NFL was always going to be a factor that worked against him. I take no enjoyment in being right so far and hoped Tutu would prove otherwise. I'm hoping he turns it around to still do that, but I'm not holding my breath either.

I've questioned his professionalism every time I've seen or heard him in an interview.

I remember him taking an interview after he was drafted, and he was either at a party or was just listening to loud music, but you could not hear him and it was a total waste.

Then he was invited to LA by Stafford to run routes and he chose to workout with Teddy Bridgewater in Miami instead.

Then at camp or OTAs, Jourdan asked him about his weight and if the Rams had him on a caloric surplus diet, and he said he said doesn't know how to count calories or how that works. How are you a professional athlete and not know how to diet??? This was when I started questioning him.

I'm sure he loves football, but I don't think he's a student of the game yet.

After reading the article on Van and contrasting that to this news about Atwell and I just don’t see him ever maturing as a Ram. He may hop around from team to team and be an after thought but he will never have what it takes if he doesn’t have it now.

I’ll gladly eat a metric ton of crow if he proves me wrong.

Wonder what pick we would get for him if we traded him now?

Tutu Aintwell is a wasted pick. Tutu was not even tossed into the Lions game during kickoff returns really showed McVay had no confidence in him.

Rams need to trade Tutu Aintwell before the trading deadline and recoup their loss with this pick .

How can McVay expect him to be engaged when he gets zero PT...

Maybe they could design a play for him? Get him involved somehow. Something.

He was surrounded by family on draft day, which is why there was noise after he was drafted. And, as well all know, it's hard to tell family to quiet down.

I think they wanted Rondale Moore. He has looked good in AZ but again, it's still early for any of these guys.

I saw a stat last week of where JaMarr Chase stacked up vs rookie WR seasons. A dude called Justin Blackmon was right up there in his first few games. It's too soon to write these guys off either way.

Blackmon was an alcoholic, so not a fair comparison unless you know something about Tutu that we don't.

Just curious. Was anyone genuinely excited when At wells name was called at the draft? Anyone?

I hated just hearing about the Rams interest pre-draft. Les traded up to get Tavon. Pre-draft interest in Tutu was a bad omen.

2025 6th rounder is what Snead would shoot for. I'd hope we could do better than that though.

At this point what sense does it make to trade him honestly? Just ride it out and hope he develops and starts putting more work and effort in. If hes a bust, hes a bust. Akers and Van seem to be very good players, you cant hit on them all. I just hated the pick AFTER we signed Djax. If we didn't sign a speed guy in FA, then I get the pick. But to get Djax, and already have Van from last year it just seemed like such a reach to go WR in round 2 again.

I know there were similar concerns with Van Jefferson’s lack of production at times last year.

“Couldn’t unseat Josh Reynolds”… etc.

But Jeff had 9 catches through 7 games last year. Atwell… 0.

As pointed out earlier, Jackson isn’t getting a ton of action either.

The interview I was referring to wasn't on draft day. I can't remember if it was a podcast but it was days afterwards.

We've been running a lot more 11 personnel again haven't we? Woods, Kupp, and Van Jefferson, there hasn't really been a need to go beyond that, especially when all three can be a deep threat as well.

I'm wondering if we'll see more variation in packages depending on the opponent.

No it's not.

You just go up to the oldest, most frail family member and say:
"Listen Nana. If you don't pipe-down, you will be seeing grand-pa real soon."

I'm sure he'll be fine. This is just me reading too much between the lines before training camp. I can't find the short noisy post draft interview but below is the other interview I was referring to. At 1:45 - 2:30 is when he talks about his weight, and at 6:54 is when he talks about Stafford reaching out to him.

I'm sure Reggie and team put him on a more specific diet at camp but I expected that to start before then, and I wished he went to LA early instead of staying at home in Miami. Maybe he wasn't paid yet but I'm sure the team could have helped him out until camp.

I think all of us understand the lack of production CGI given our WR depth chart. Dont think thats the problem. But he's made zero impact on special teams which is a weakness right now. Our return game is horrible, among the worst in the NFL. And on top of that McVay comes out and says he needs more urgency? People that lack work ethic dont seem to fit with McVay so his comments yesterday have to be eye opening.
