Not to be a buzz killer.......
Last night was epic. Baker looked amazing like a 160 QB rating if he really knew the players on his teams names.
No tape with him with this offense.
Let us see what happens when defenses really study this thing.
O struggles will still come down to OL and other injuries.
That said, Mayfield has something neither back up does...he can stand in the face of pressure and still deliver the ball down field. We saw several examples of that last night. Also, he can make plays down field with his arm when he gets outside the pocket.
Honestly, the Saints, KC, Tampa Bay, Seattle and Oakland games have shown us a team with a lot of heart.
They have been playing at below 50% starters on one or both sides of ball in all of those games and could easily (maybe should be) 3-2 in those games.
The depth wasn't great....but, it is certainly getting better with the real game reps.
Copeland, Hoecht, Durant, Skow, Tutu, Williams....there have guys that have stepped up and grown through a very tough situation.
I would expect most of those guys to have roles next year.
Next to step up...I hope....Thomas, and another DB, McCutcheon and my dude Trammell.
