I strongly encourage anyone putting any credence to this HoldenCantor clown’s posts - to schedule a checkup. It’s time to adjust your medication.

I love adjusting my medications!

Seriously though, I agree.
I don't see the question of Stafford returning as a legit concern. I think the Rams need him; and he needs the Rams; and they will work it out. And, I can be a pretty negative SOB. Hope I am not being naive.

On the other hand, I did not think the Rams would move-on from Kupp this off-season because of the limited cap savings ... so what the hell do I know.

Comparing yourself to a multi millionaire is laughable as hell. There are levels to being rich and trust me, we ain't there so spare me the job comparisons with us peasants vs these NFL players that make generational wealth. No one is saying for him to get low balled like crazy but somehow you think I'm implying that? Please tell me where I said that. Stafford is going to be more than ok financially if he takes a discount that is reasonable. I wouldn't be like, hey bud, I'm going to make you 10th highest paid. I get what the market is, but at the same time, does a player ever take into account, shit, I've made $365 million playing a child's game. It wouldn't hurt to take just a lil less would it? He apparently likes LA and McVay is a genius, but how dare we ask him to consider the team in negotiations. Just get the bag Stafford......by the way, making an assumption as to what I'd do with my job is gonna make you look foolish now. I just literally took a 2nd job down the street from me that pays way less than I could make by just simply picking up more hours at my other job. Why'd I do that? I did it because it's got extremely flexible hours and keeps me in town for my wife and kids so it makes that work life balance more suitable on my days off. There's shit that is more important than just simply money sometimes.

My position is that neither you, me, or anyone else has a right to judge his life goals. I maintain that it's not greed for anyone, rich or poor, to ask for market value.

You're assuming that his primary concern is whether he will be financially taken care of. I know a wealthy person who gives away 90% of their income and lives on 10%.

How do we know it's not for charitable reasons?
How do we know he's not trying to set up his great-grandchildren for success?

And you're right: I did assume what you'd do. Retracted. (Although, I was more talking about a scenario where your job asks you to be paid less to help them; not a scenario where your life is benefitted by taking less. It's not the same.)

The only way I can see that information being exposed is it Kelly Stafford opens her mouth as she doesn't seem to give a shit about trying to keep things in house a la her dating Stafford's back up at Georgia.
Annoying isn't she? He makes all the money and she does all the running off at the mouth. Perfect marriage for her.

Why can't he get the bag and win?

Plenty of teams build winners without asking their best, most important player to take a discount.
Like I said it's not my money so his call but good luck with that plan. Like any other business you will give the bag and then cut corners elsewhere it doesn't always allow you to put the best product out there and also he has gotten the bag numerous times. Brady got paid but put winning first is something I tend to respect a whole lot more no matter how much I disliked him.

Unfortunately QBs are by far the biggest earners in the NFL so by a QB taking a slight discount, it helps the team out overall. I hate Brady, but he did it so they could keep most of his team intact. If he truly cared about winning, he'd be ok with that. Not saying he doesn't as we all have zero idea what he's asking for and what the Rams are willing to pay. If he's asking for top notch dollar, fuck him, that's greed. If the Rams are truly low balling the shit out of him (which I've never heard them do, but could be possible) then thats on the Rams for being cheap. Doubt we'll ever know since the Rams tend to keep everything hush hush. The only way I can see that information being exposed is it Kelly Stafford opens her mouth as she doesn't seem to give a shit about trying to keep things in house a la her dating Stafford's back up at Georgia.
I think it's more of an issue of tying up $100M for two yrs in a 38 & 39 yr old QB who could pop his achillies or injure his back or whatever and your screwed.

If he was 29 or 30, and you could spread out his cap hit further, then it wouldn't be as big an issue. Jalen Hurts only had $20M cap hit this year because his deal is back loaded. So when the time comes they can redo it and spread out a new contract. You can't do that with Stafford.

That's why they are up against it now. On one hand he gives you a shot to win it all, but at the same time his health and cap number could be the thing that stands in the way of this group contending over the next 4 yrs with this new window full of young players.

KELLY had talked about her HUSBAND-Matthew )Stafford) saying he wants to WIN !!

I’m not a BIG Fan of hers.Do appreciate how she helped out in Arizona for the Playoff game.

Her take was The Rams letting Kupp go & was sort of Upset about it.

She also said there not scared to go on a venture & explore.

We’ll see what happens ,but she seemed a little negative on The Rams front office moves as of now??

I'm not judging him at all. By all means, get your money if that's what he wants, but its still greed at the end of the day if he's aiming to be the highest paid per se (I honestly don't know this nor am I assuming, just putting that out there). If I'm happy somewhere, I'm not simply bolting if the money is in the ball park. He's only greedy if he's asking for the moon is all I'm saying. The guy has more than enough for his grand children as long as he doesn't do stupid shit with his money and doesn't try to live lavish like he's still getting a NFL salary, but worrying about having enough for great grandchildren is definitely greed. Sorry man, those kids should be ok and have advantages and not rely on great granddaddy's money in my opinion.

I actually stopped pursuing another step up in my main job because it required me to work with individuals that created a toxic work environment. The money wasn't worth the headache to me. At the end of the day, I value being happier in my job vs miserable. Don't worry about the fool comment by the way. I honestly don't come at anyone personally but just talk to everyone here like I do with my buddies at the bar which tends to include shit talking as I rather enjoy it. Also I more than make a fool of myself on occasion because hey I'm human and its what we all do throughout life which is why we are so entertaining lol. Lastly I'll add that I always appreciate the conversations with everyone here regardless of whether we see eye to eye or not. It's healthy and good to hear everyone's point of view since I'm a thinker (big shock lol) and tend to try to learn from any and everyone except Allen2McVay or Loyal. They are a bad influence on me....oh what the fuck, who am I kidding, they're hilarious and great posters and I welcome their terrible influence, its like food for my soul hahaha

Not an overreaction, just acknowledging that it's a real possibility that they could go in a different direction. And that there are valid reasons why they could be thinking about other alternatives in regards how to approach these next 4-5 years.

I've wondered why Stafford (especially as he ages and seems less mobile) doesn't go all in on becoming more athletic, especially with his legs?

He wants more $, ok, but how 'bout working out 3/4 hours a day and becoming more of a "threat " with his legs? . . . at least able to scramble for 7/8 yards when forced out of the pocket and maybe even able to go for 10+ on a called bootleg? Now when he "runs" he seems like he's 45/50 years old.

They say Brady became a big workout guy and played well into his 40's? Why not Stafford?

Get more athletic and make the team better.

I hate this time of year.
I actually like it because it's fun watching how your team approaches the team building process. We'll, it's fun as long as you have a good organization that normally makes good moves.

Of course all organizations get questioned on why they make certain moves, and that's what we do here.

Some fans like the x's & o's of football, I like the team building as a wanna be GM.

I’ve always played that game.Still hold The Rams brass accountable.

Watching this Superbowl & seeing the 2 centers(Dickerson,Humpries)play wishes The Rams drafted them. They’ve already played against each other once. What happens to Tutu?

-This all said -I like what The Lakers did this weekend.Trades in The NFL seem to be different?? I wonder what Mattew Stafford does (Rams). I like Jimmy G!!

It better be a bunch of bullshit. Stafford to Steelers ? Hope, Nope.................
Well I had to go back at it.

Orvlovsky was a Ram Sean Mcvays first season. He was with Jared Goff.
He got slammed yesterday because he voted for Josh Allen instead of Lamar Jackson.

Jalen Hurts will be out there this Sunday & sort of wanted him with Jared Goff in 2020.He was the next pick after Cam Akers.

I hear the Stafford to Pitt ?? Made me go back in time with all those Rams that went there Bettis,Green & love.

—Justin Fields at 25 years of age has some good NFL experience. My thinking is how good would he be with The Rams & Jimmy G under Mcvay ??? It’s a thought, but it sure would be interesting!!!

The price would be right & Kupp was rumored there,so maybe Stafford & Fields .Could buy time & give The Rams a different option, depending of downs ?
