Yeah he has. If he's trying to ask for top dollar (highest paid type shit) because of respect and put the Rams in a financial bind, by all means fuck him. It's pure greed and ego at that point. This is off of spotrac. Like I said, pure fuckin greed. If you can't live off of that, you're a fucking dumb ass person with finances.

For the first time I am thinking he may be gone.

Daniel Jeremiah was discussing with Bucky Brooks whether it is important to be solid on both sides of the ball or great on one side of the ball. He said he has always felt and agreed with ( I forgot who he mentioned) ... that he would always prefer to be great on one side of the ball.

Now, I mention this here because with the jump start they have on a young defense, I could see McVay thinking that he can build a dominant D, especially with extra picks from a trade of Stafford and maybe something from Kupp, and the extra cap room that will come in 26'. Plus, be able to build around another QB on offense.

So this year you can add FAs with back-loaded contracts, so once Stafford and Kuop are off the books, you can absorb those deals, and you go with Jimmy G for a year or two while you groom a kid, or until some other QB option becomes available.

So you can win with a loaded roster, even if the QB is only avg. and playing in his scheme. Look at the Eagles. Hurts did very little in the playoffs and only had a so so year, yet they are 14-3 and in the SB with a moron HC.

What would McVay do with a loaded roster and a solid QB in his offense?

He has watched SF & Philly reach to the last 3 SBs with non first round QBs who are guys that are not HOF caliber QBs.

I hope you are right and this is nothing more than a scare, because we have a window opening that will slam shut without the right guy taking snaps. Right now we have that, but replacing #9 right now almost certainly means we won't.

Don't you worry about a thing. I am right 24.3% of the time.

At this point, I am ok with moving on from Stafford. Trust in McVay and Snead - this was bred last season.

Honestly, tired of the uncertainty, every single year.

I'm fine with moving on from Stafford only because it was/is coming no matter what in a year etc. Who he picks should be good enough since we went from Goff to Stafford and won a super bowl.

Dude.... its way more complicated than that.

Also the owners have billions, Stafford money is peanuts in the big picture of the money that flows through the league.
Except that in Staff’s case it’s already more than a third of a billion. That’s not peanuts to any billionaire.

It may be more complicated but it also may not. I’d like to know the two sides’ arguments or catch points before I’d venture an opinion there.

In the meantime, you’re not showing Matthew any disrespect by not offering him top dollar. So if the money is close, I’m going to be more disappointed in Staff.

Good lord!!!! Maybe I'm a peasant but after making all that and I'm sure the rams would add to it but I'd also want to win more once I got to this point especially but I'm not. Thanks for finding that brother appreciate it. For sure generational wealth. Let alone commercial real estate endorsements and whatever his wife brings in too. Just at some point winning I'd put first

To add to this, Hurts is not even on a rookie contract anymore.

It's much easier to build a loaded team around the QB when he's super inexpensive.

I'm all for players getting their bag and Stafford has made a ton. Having said that coming from so much losing to actually winning games I don't understand sometimes where you say I've made a lot winning is what I want. You look at someone like Brady whom most of us dislike how many times did he put himself last for the good of the team? I know there's a lot of stat guys on here but please let me know hasn't Stafford just from football raked in the most money ever or like top 3?
Why can't he get the bag and win?

Plenty of teams build winners without asking their best, most important player to take a discount.

So you think Stafford should accept being the 16th higest paid QB?

Unfortunately QBs are by far the biggest earners in the NFL so by a QB taking a slight discount, it helps the team out overall. I hate Brady, but he did it so they could keep most of his team intact. If he truly cared about winning, he'd be ok with that. Not saying he doesn't as we all have zero idea what he's asking for and what the Rams are willing to pay. If he's asking for top notch dollar, fuck him, that's greed. If the Rams are truly low balling the shit out of him (which I've never heard them do, but could be possible) then thats on the Rams for being cheap. Doubt we'll ever know since the Rams tend to keep everything hush hush. The only way I can see that information being exposed is it Kelly Stafford opens her mouth as she doesn't seem to give a shit about trying to keep things in house a la her dating Stafford's back up at Georgia.

I mean, if Stafford doesn't want to retire, he doesn't really have much leverage. He's under contract and He's 37 years old. He can't really afford to sit out. Rams should up his pay but I hope they don't allow themselves to be held hostage by him.

Sure, what Brady did is helpful, but that shouldn't be the standard of what every other player is expected to do.

If you take away Brady, there are plenty of winning teams that aren't doing so on the basis that their best players take a discount. Both SB contestants this year have highly paid QBs and other players.

It's not greed for a player to ask for market value, no matter where your job is. I sure don't like giving discounts to my employer. I'm willing to bet you don't either. People say things like he's a top 5 QB. Then pay him like a damn top 5 QB!

Wanting something different than that is unjust and born of bias.

Comparing yourself to a multi millionaire is laughable as hell. There are levels to being rich and trust me, we ain't there so spare me the job comparisons with us peasants vs these NFL players that make generational wealth. No one is saying for him to get low balled like crazy but somehow you think I'm implying that? Please tell me where I said that. Stafford is going to be more than ok financially if he takes a discount that is reasonable. I wouldn't be like, hey bud, I'm going to make you 10th highest paid. I get what the market is, but at the same time, does a player ever take into account, shit, I've made $365 million playing a child's game. It wouldn't hurt to take just a lil less would it? He apparently likes LA and McVay is a genius, but how dare we ask him to consider the team in negotiations. Just get the bag Stafford......by the way, making an assumption as to what I'd do with my job is gonna make you look foolish now. I just literally took a 2nd job down the street from me that pays way less than I could make by just simply picking up more hours at my other job. Why'd I do that? I did it because it's got extremely flexible hours and keeps me in town for my wife and kids so it makes that work life balance more suitable on my days off. There's shit that is more important than just simply money sometimes.

Shrager thinks he’s in tight with the Rams. They don’t tell him or anyone what’s going on. Last year they used him to spread a rumor that the Rams were trading up to draft an offensive tackle. Pete was dumb enough to think he had inside info. He had that stupid “I know a secret” look in his face.

Don’t believe any of these media honks. They are just throwing shit at the wall. One of them may get lucky and be right but Snead, nor McVay are telling him anything.
