Oh I agree, they better get an upgrade at center. But I said that in last years draft.
Seems like they've just gambled on Kromers ability to coach these guys up and he hasn't been able too.

Well we have to now as Blythe is a FA and I'll be SHOCKED if he returns.

I know what I'd like for us to do, but we'll see what we actually do.

I didn't get to do that Post Stafford Mock as my youngest hijacked me last night for another late night convo...

I'll try to get to that tonight.

Players from other teams have posted support for Goff. Rams players might be nervous as the next train pulls into town & you never know when it’s leaving lol

Ugh..... I feel like we JUST got past the stupid Bradford drama.... Now we gotta talk about another ex Ram QB ad nauseum. I know it's still fresh, so let's get it out of our systems people. I really hope it doesn't continue into next season...

Also, maybe I have missed it, but I don't think I have seen any Rams players reaching out to JG on SM since this went down. I saw that Whitworth wife posted a nice message to and about him, but that is it. Maybe I am just not seeing it, but I thought that was strange.

That's further smoke like what I was talking about earlier.

Where are the players.

It's been days and how many players gave him one of those "was epic to play with you. Go get it in Detroit!" type messages?

I'm not on the insta... hate instagram, but I'm on twitter and haven't seen a single mention.

Glad Whit's wife said something because someone should...

That is surprising.

I mean playing with a broken thumb and getting to the superbowl should have gotten some sort of response.

Even a Good Luck in Detroit response.

Maybe they don't want to get on the bad side of McVay

Or is it they can't comment on something like that since it's not official until March 17th?

The point I'm trying to make is simple:

If you don't want people to rip Goff while he's on his way out, then you should stop criticizing McVay for how the situation was handled because there are now several people on the forum who would agree that it would have been appropriate for McVay to have been even less professional.

Nobody is kicking Sean McVay while he is down or on his way out. He just got his guy. We're all rams fans and 99.999 love McVay. We just don't like how it was handled.

So we should stop saying that we didn't like the public way the team handled it because there are several people here who feel Jared should get even more shit on his way out?
That's the "simple" logic?
Dude, then those several people are pretty damn childish.

The young dude who many of us were actual fans of, the kid who has been ripped the entire time, the same one who is now moving to Detroit from his home state after not being told they were moving on (except through weird interviews to the media) is the one party in this scenario who never went low, never tried to hurt anyones value or tarnish anyones name or make jabs in tweets- despite the less than cool way that the situation went down.....

And so, if I want people to quit kicking him on his way out, I should keep my mouth shut about the organization kicking him on his way out????

You tried to make it simple, I appreciate that I guess...but you're comparing apples to astronauts.

Is it possible that McVay's offense didnt grow and maybe, just maybe, McVay needed Gurley as much as Goff did as teams got used to playing his offense?

An offense who over the last two yrs had zero explosive players. No one with 4.3 speed or even 4.4 speed. No gamebreakers that can take it to the house like a Tyreke Hill or DJ Metcalf or Adams or Hopkins, etc... No physical specimens like Derrick Henry or Deebo Samuels, Mike Evans, or Travis Kelce.

Maybe losing Gurley's explosiveness and Cooks deep speed was a bigger issue when paired with teams catching up to his schemes, than the so called Goff regression?

And I didn't even mention the loss of Saffold and Sullivan, two vets that helped the run game and pass protection until Sullivan began breaking down in 18'. And of course 19' and the losing of multiple OL starters by midseason.

So not as simple as some want to believe by putting it all on Goff.
BTW, I am not saying McVay is a bad coach. Obviously he has been amazing. He created a winning culture after taking over a horrible one... His leadership and ability to do that might be a bigger strength than his x's & o's though.... Which would be a big change from what the narrative is.

In the end Goff will have the chance to prove doubters wrong with his play.

I have been one of Goff's staunchest supporters on this forum and I'm not questioning his character.

What do I base what I said on? Thanks for asking.

I'm basing it on either no or tepid acknowledgements regarding Goff's play by coaches and teammates. The reaction to Wolford was palpably different.

I saw no shoutouts on Twitter and saw none cross referenced from Instagram. Unfortunately, that's a big deal with the kids these days.

Also, can we get straight about McVay. Did he totally disrespect Goff or compliment him? Because we're talking about the same moment. What McVay said when asked was "he did what he could", iirc. That might have been the GB game, I don't recall fully. His support was tepid and THAT WAS NEWS because he'd never done that before.

So, I dunno what they did in the lockerroom, but I do know how the team responded to the two players.

And as one of Goff's biggest supporters at that time (I still really like him and wish him the best in Detroit when not against the Rams), I was shocked at their reactions.

It begged questions that we still don't know answers to and maybe never will.

And when we get them, if, say, Goff admits to what's been insinuated, will folks relent?

I remember prior to Chris Long being drafted, I reviewed his tape and said he had shitty footwork and he'd need to fix it to be successful. The ENTIRE year got dogged out about hating Chris Long which I absolutely did not.

What did Chris Long say in his end of the year interview?

"I really need to work on my footwork"

I bring this up because I dunno and am asking the questions. I already admitted to being very wrong about Stafford.

If it turns out that Goff was as culpable as it looks he may have been (not entirely, no one's saying that), are folks gonna acquiesce or go down with a death grip on the dogma that Goff was the victim here.
Well, I looked at Kupp's and Woods' Twitter accounts and not one mention of Stafford... So we MUST assume they hate the deal then since no welcoming tweets of their new teammate??

As was mentioned, they likely are not supposed to comment on such things until official.

I think it's more likely they were either

a) told not to say anything until it's official

OR

b) they didn't like him of their own accord and he soured hard this year vs. previous years

I'm a lot more inclined to believe a, but have heard rumors of b being true but I tend to try not to give them too much water.

As will our team. 2 firsts and a young QB with some trade value for a 3 to 5 year rental? The expectations have to be better than the status quo, right?

if he had continued to grow and not turned the ball over at an alarming rate he would still be in horns.
He had only 2 turnovers in his last 6 games, including 0 in the playoffs.
He's gone because he isnt want McVay needs, and the guy who McVay thinks is, became available. So they went out and got him. It's really that simple

Whitworth, Havenstein and Brockers being released or traded would clear almost half of their CAP deficit. Noteboom proved he can play LT at this level. Edwards is out of position as a OG his build and feet are OT not OG. Edwards would be an upgrade to swinging door Havenstein.

LT Noteboom
LG Corbett
C Shelton
RG Evans
RT Edwards

I'm sorry but Whitworth's age is showing. He can play but he's no longer the elite LT he used to be. Rob's play always has been spotty but when he's targeted he's dead meat. Blythe simply lacks mobility and sand to pass block. Shelton plays with a mean aggression and is far better blocking on the second level than Blythe. Evans has the prototypical build and feet of an OG. He lacks the feet and length to play OT in the NFL.

IMO that is the o-line they projected when they drafted Noteboom and Edwards and Evans. Time to play them and see if Snead was right. I feel that if played in those positions this could be a very good power gap blocking o-line making McVay's play-action passes even more effective.
There is nothing so destructive as bad idea whose time has not come.

Yes sir you are right. The proof is in the pudding. The whole thing could blow up for both.

That's possible about the not commenting until official bit.. I don't think it's likely, but it's possible.

I dunno. I remembered immediate Social Media responses, but that's because TG was released during FA and then signed the next day with the Falcons...

So yeah, that might be.

When is the last time you saw Goff really interacting with another player on the sidelines?

A whole lot of assumptions and theories about something not happening in here. If I was a player who just got the shit kicked out of his body for five months and had to deal with constant media and fan attention that whole time the last damn thing I'd do for at least a month after the season ended would be worry about posting my opinions or two cents on social media. I'd be floating in a pool drinking margaritas.
