Okay, I'm off the ledge. I still am waiting to see what happens...only more skeptically. I have nothing against Stafford, and I hope this works out for the best...but I have doubts that I didn't have before.
Welcome back..... Now about that Stafford Mock...

What? Im not sure what connection you're trying to make. The reason some of us say they could have handled it better is because they could have.
Sure, after the fact the players will close ranks, give the company line, articles will justify actions and if anyone doesn't like the way they handled it they will keep their mouths shut.

The reason some of us say the team could handle it better has nothing to do with kicking anyone while they are down nor does it have to do with being for or against anything- many fans don't like the way they handled it.

They got rid of the kid after overpaying him, then went out of their way to sever ties, hurt his potential value and basically be less than 100% professional.

The point I'm trying to make is simple:

If you don't want people to rip Goff while he's on his way out, then you should stop criticizing McVay for how the situation was handled because there are now several people on the forum who would agree that it would have been appropriate for McVay to have been even less professional.

Because it's a talk forum, so people are going to respond with their opinions.

Matthew Stafford, Sean McVay Celebrated Rams Trade With Dinner in Mexico

The Rams completed a trade with the Lions to acquire quarterback Matthew Stafford on Saturday, and it didn't exactly take long for Stafford to get acquainted with Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay.

Stafford and McVay reportedly had dinner together shortly after the trade was agreed to on Saturday, according to The MMQB's Albert Breer. As the NFL world reacted to a true blockbuster deal, the new Rams' duo reportedly enjoyed dinner with Stafford’s wife Kelly and McVay’s fiancé Veronika in Los Cabos, Mexico. It's likely Stafford and McVay will dive into some film together in the coming weeks, but on Saturday, more important matters awaited.

"Once the deal was agreed to, some 1,100 miles south of L.A., McVay and Stafford were sitting down for dinner to celebrate a fresh start of their own," Breer wrote on Sunday night. "The coach and his new quarterback happened to be among a number of NFL people in Cabo last week—Saints coach Asshole Face and QB Drew Brees, Rams LT Andrew Whitworth and others were nearby, too, over the last few days."

So how exactly did Stafford and McVay connect so quickly? Kelly Stafford is largely to thank.

McVay is friends with Bills receivers coach Chad Hall, who is Kelly Stafford's brother. The connection led to a friendly relationship between the Staffords and McVay in recent years, and upon the trade's completion, the two couples joined in Cabo to celebrate.

Saturday's celebratory dinner almost didn't come to fruition. Numerous teams were involved in the Stafford sweepstakes, per Breer, including Washington, Carolina, Indianapolis and San Francisco. Both Washington and Carolina reportedly offered its respective 2021 first-round picks, and the Football Team also reportedly offered their 2021 third rounder. But ultimately, Los Angeles provided the greatest haul of picks, bringing Stafford and McVay together for the first of many dinners (and perhaps playoff victories) in the coming years.
I believe I read that they were all in Cabo before the trade as well.

On this work ethic topic, nobody is accused of work ethic issues if they truly work hard. End of story.

One thing I thing about is the lack of running game he's EVER had.. imagine what he's going to be able to do with PA and what not when the DEF actually has to respect the run game.. and when he has this DEF backing him and he can get the ball in his hands more...

So I bit the bullet and purchased a pff subscription bc why the fuck not...and according to them the lions had a stud at LT and a stud at C. Which kinda makes sense with film I watch on Stafford where he steps up in the pocket well. Point being...we need to upgrade the C position
I agree - the two games I watched so far has Stafford stepping up in the pocket and making good throws due to having no pressure up the middle.

I rarely saw Goff the last two years being able to do that.

Stafford may have the same difficulties Goff had if they don't get an upgrade at center.

Then again - Stafford is a much more mobile QB so he can probably avoid the up the middle pressure better than Goff.

I see no scenario where the Rams don't update C and maybe another spot or two on the Ol. Definitely C though.

Can't say I'm shocked, his regression this year was jaw dropping. That first half vs the Dolphins was one of the worst QB performances I've ever seen.
And the second half was one of the better QB performances so it took him a half to get going. And I blame McVay for that first half.

I was saying all game that the way the dolphins were playing on defense on certain plays that WR screens would kill them.

And in the third half, whenever the Dolphins went to a specific defensive set up that killed us in the first half, Goff threw a WR screen and all of them went for over 15 yards. As a result, the Dolphins got out of that defensive alignment and that's when Goff went to work on them. That was a McVay game that he should have adjusted to quicker imho.

In addition, we win that game if Everett holds onto that third down pass.

Ugh..... I feel like we JUST got past the stupid Bradford drama.... Now we gotta talk about another ex Ram QB ad nauseum. I know it's still fresh, so let's get it out of our systems people. I really hope it doesn't continue into next season...

Also, maybe I have missed it, but I don't think I have seen any Rams players reaching out to JG on SM since this went down. I saw that Whitworth wife posted a nice message to and about him, but that is it. Maybe I am just not seeing it, but I thought that was strange.
