Spent a year in Morgantown West Virginia. I have always loved hot dogs. The only places you can really get hot dogs around me in Utah are Weinerschitzel or like a 7-11 - that's fast food/restaurant type dogs.

But in West Virginia I was introduced to the real hot dog culinary experience. There was a little place called Star City Hot Dogs that was so good. There were a few other places in Morgantown.

Then we visited Huntington for a day. There is a famous Hot Dog place right in Huntington - Stewart's Original Hot Dogs.

Then as we drove back to Morgantown we stopped at this place called Hillbilly Hot Dogs. They had a variety of really fancy hot dogs. The whole place was built on a bus parked on this property with all sorts of stuff around the property to explore.

I look at these trades like this. Are the Rams chances of drafting a guy of Stafford's caliber with either late first round pick very high? I'd say the chance is almost zero. So the picks were worth it.

Not to mention the "win now" strategy...

I’m slowly excepting the reality that Goff is no longer the QB of the RAMS. I was totally shocked at first, kept me up until 2:00am this morning trying to wrap my head around it while keeping up with this thread. I’ve read good points from both sides of the aisle...I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve got to put my trust into the organization if I want to stay committed to the team that I’ve put a lot of sweat and tears into for 50 years. So with that, I wish the best for Goff and welcome Stafford aboard moving forward.

People here are trying to find the positives in the deal, There will most certainly be added cap flexibilty.
No question we can all project the result with varied levels of accuracy but remeber any QB can be hurt anytime and Matt would not be desired by half the league if it were a present issue.
Time to accept this and hope for the best Stafford is certainly a more gifted player than Goff right now. Yes one could get reinjured and the other could finally find the consistency and internal clock he has been missing. I like Jared a lot but he certainly did not show consitent improvement in the areas he does control....

I agree with that. But I am betting that he will be much better next year but then again Detroit is such a crappy team that even with a better Goff they will shit the bed.

GM Les Snead in 2015 traded 2 Firsts, 1 Second & 2 Thirds to get Goff.

In 2021 Snead traded 2 first rd picks & a third-round pick to get rid of him & that oversized contract he gave Goff.

Total= 4 First Round Selections, 1 Second round, and 3 Third rounders.

I heard on Dallas Sports radio today that it was expressed as: (3) to get Goff and (3) more to get rid of him for a total of 6 picks....oh well, what's 2 more anyway if it ruins the story.

Was hoping we would land a mobile QB, but I'm still excited to see Stafford in McVay's offense.

Bold move by Snead to get rid of Goff and two 1sts...but he had to do it, because Goff was not gonna win shit with us, and the relationship had clearly soured.

Im trying to turn my logic around and feel excited about this... but I'm not able.

I am a huge homer who usually finds a reason to support the moves the team makes, get excited about them, etc.
I'm not able to do that this time.

I think there is a really good chance Goff will be playing good football long after Stafford or Wolford or Bradford or Harrison Ford are all long gone.

If the former Rams org members now on the Lions did this deal to make the Rams better, they will be unemployed soon. They traded a an old QB with back issues for a proven playoff winner who can play through injuries who is only beginning his career... and 2 firsts. They are high fiving each other, I'm sure.

Only if he fixes his TO issues. It's waaaayyy too infrequent. Hope he does well, but I'm gonna feel better knowing I won't have to pucker each time Matthew Stafford drops back to pass hoping an INT isn't on its way.

I doubt all of this happens but the Rams have many options for creating cap room. And all of it is ok to do as long as they don't cut all of these players in the next year or two lol.

This is great fucking news. And just more examples of how the cap can be worked around.

Lets sign a deep threat WR, then maybe interior OL..or we can draft that. Then the rest can go towards keeping the D strong.

I just got another.. from the "who will be the Rams QB moving forward" thread. A day after we traded him, somebody feels compelled to tell me they are not so sure about Goff being our QB.
