I mean, the stats just show that you're wrong here and that's okay. The Lions gave up more sacks, gave up pressures at a higher rate, gave their QB less time to throw and averaged fewer yards per carry than the Rams did.

As an aside, many Rams fans have lamented just one bad offensive lineman for the Rams this year - so it's entirely possible to have two pro bowl offensive linemen and still have a mediocre offensive line.

The Rams gave up far more QB hits on the name number of pressures. So your numbers in the first place are wrong. And that's with the Lions running half as many play action attempts (because the Lions are either playing from behind or relying on big game offense).

The pressure percentage for Stafford was worse, so the numbers aren't wrong. Goff did get hit more but that's not enough to offset literally every other stat saying our OL performed better. And coaching is a part of that too - so if the Lions run less play action, Goff will be worse off.

It didn't take Holmes long to get rolling in Detroit. He has 3 more draft picks and adds a young QB that better fits his time line. The dead cap space doesn't hurt them much, because they are rebuilding with youth. The draft picks are the important part. Let's see how well he does with those picks in Detroit. Maybe we make more trades with him in the future.

Well, the Lions have a new coaching staff. And if they're biting off kneecaps, that should help create openings for Goff lol.

I am not sure the Rams front office wanted Goff out. There is a storyline that Goff wanted out after not getting the start in Seattle.

But look on the bright side, the Rams have such a storied history of bringing in aging Vet QB's like Joe Namath, Bert Jones, Dan Pastorini, Steve Bartkowski, Dieter Brock, Steve Bono...
Oh, wait a minute....
Exactly how long have you been waiting for this moment?

I know your mind won't be changed but I disagree. Rams weren't going to win the Super Bowl with Goff, so if we don't win it with Stafford, no difference.

I hope we hear what happened because Goff had to have done something to get in McVays doghouse, which means even if we didn't make this trade, Goff's days in LA were numbered.
There is a difference between not winning a SB with Goff vs Stafford. Two first round picks and a 3rd is the difference.

It's a case of people not realizing how good Goff had it. The OL and McVay have both been hammered by mostly the same posters.

When someone has stepped in to logically defend the OL, the response was "that's because we rolled out so much" - so it goes from:

McVays fault because the OL isn't good enough

To (upon someone pointing out the last the OL was quite good by almost any statistic):

Well the OL was only good enough because of McVays play calling

Good stuff
Oh i see what you did there. The good old bandwagon fallacy lol. You claim that the OL is actually good because it's just a few of "mostly the same posters" that claim it isn't.

The difference in the Rams Packers game according to dam near every Ram fan was very clearly one offensive line imposed their will and the other could not pass block when it needed to.
Well, the Lions have a new coaching staff. And if they're biting off kneecaps, that should help create openings for Goff lol.
:D Good one. A little laughter heals the soul. We gonna need some laughter after this debacle.

No shit. Pretty hot start for him and if Goff plays well he'll look like a genius.

I'm totally in on Stafford. Rams will have the #1 Offense and #1 Defense next year!

Stafford is going from hell to heaven!

Also...good job tonight @MachS (and a few others). I support everyone of your posts in this thread!

I keep reading that we can’t waste Donal’s and Ramsey’s prime and I it makes me remember their huge impact in the Green Bay game.

Stafford is going to have a fearsome run game. And I'll bet they get him a weapon for the passing game on top of a center. I'm sure he's pumped. He's gotta be pumped coming into this system.
