wait was there ever any doubt by anyone?Yup, called it that Wolf would give up 9 to Stafford. Not really a tough call to make, but I pretty much knew he'd keep it.

I was hoping Stafford would wear #7
That's a nice QB number in my opinion. Believe that was Stafford's college #.
I am guessing it may be a retired Rams' # as it was worn by Bob Waterfield but maybe his family would have given an OK.
#9 for a QB ... just doesn't work for me.
And the answer is YES ... I am embarrassed and ashamed that I have given this topic thought and consideration.
I'm a fan of the odd single digits. The one that really grinds me is 6. Ew.I was hoping Stafford would wear #7

It has? It’s been a QB number for The Rams over the years.
It has?
You sure about that?
I go back to Gabriel (#18).
The only #9s I can think of were Jeff Kemp and Joe Germaine.
Can’t recall a #7. Even Bert Jones switched to #17 when he joined the Rams.
Hated both strike/labor-shortened seasons ... 1982 and 1987.KEMP for President!! I liked the strike year.Had it’s own flavor to it. Certain guys crossed over.Don’t even want to get political.
Wolford ran with The #9 now he
Makes a Nice Pass to
The Rams starting QB

The wrapping up that 1-2 year extension? I could only hope. They're not live on Periscope and they usually are. Odd.

Rams sucked both years. Other than 1981, those were the only seasons in the decade the Rams did not make the playoffs.
Jeff Kemp’s starting season was 1984 ... Dickerson’s 2,000 yard season.
That’s not much as far as Rams’ history of #9 QBs.
They're not live on Periscope and they usually are. Odd.
I agreed with the last sentence above.Palm Springs 84” was cool. Mark Gastonio walking the stripper. Was a guy before Jose & after Lyle A. Fun times Spring Breaks
in So Cal in those days.
Jumped over a Fench at old Meadowlands to see a strike game with Dallas . Not sure if the was the QB ?
History Writes itself.Hopefully Matthew Stafford helps you appreciate
#9.
*Pulls old guy card out......Periscope reached end of life on Dec 31, 2020 and will outright shutdown on Mar 31, 2021. They probably looking at alternatives
