Barring a trade, the Rams will go 7 years without a 1st round pick
Let that sink in

The draft pick cost will be more palatable if the Lions are paying the $10m roster bonus before the trade is made official.

Right now I'm bitching about this trade. I think it's the wrong move and McVay and Snead will get canned if this team doesn't play for a Super Bowl soon....most likely next year.

Having said that, tomorrow I will root for Stafford because he's a Ram now.

People around here love Goff so much they dont think Stafford is a better QB?? Wake up Stafford is A LOT better and you will see.

Our first round picks will be late 1st rounders anyways its not like we'll be in the top 25. And what did you think it would cost to get rid of Goff's terrible contract? A LOT.

But now we have a legit difference maker at QB that has some of the best arm talent in the NFL. Pairing him with McVay will be fireworks.
We could be better for a couple of years, but we got fucked.

I think I read that the Rams can cut Stafford after next season on only take a 6 million dollar cap hit

so they jettison Goff's stupid contract

Sorry but I don't find it very reassuring if a net positive is that we can dump Stafford too.

I hope for people that hated Goff's tenure here, that he is better. Because if you think that was brutal this or last year, imagine us not making the playoffs this next year. I don't subscribe to the fact Stafford is that much better. And the fact Goff is younger bothers me. And what's absolutely not worth it, is 2 draft picks for a hypothetical situation inwhich Stafford is that much better. I swear to god, Snead better hope he is. And I don't mean touchdowns, I mean wins. I care about results, not gaudy numbers. Isn't that why we are all here? We all know Goff wasn't at his best the last two years, but the results were there. Now we've set up an awful situation for ourselves.

Stafford needs to go deep into the playoffs, or at least get us there in his first year. Because we just lost two premier potential players out of the draft for a 32 year old QB. Anything else is an absolute failure.

See I love the Rams..die hard fan. But more than that I'm an objective football fan. Stafford was a better prospect coming out of college, and has a WAAAY better pro career than Goff. Goff has had 2 good years out of 5. Two!! Stafford has some of the best arm talent in the entire NFL. Top 3-5 I'd say.

Theres no doubt in my mind hes better than Goff as hard as that is for people to hear. Its what happens when you get overly emotionally attached to a player. 32 of 32 GMs would take Stafford over Goff. We just upgraded at QB thats all I care about.

IMO Stafford is an upgrade, so we're better for the next two years at least.

This trade signals three things to me:

1. They shouldn't have extended Goff, why did they do it? Please learn from that mistake

2. Goff and McVay were next level broken

3. Goff's value was so low that we had to give up more compensation while having to outbid other teams - I think those two things combine for why we had to send two firsts

Ehhh. No one will care in January or dare I say....February.
When the Rams oline still sucks, Whitworth retires, there's no cap room, and Stafford is no better than Goff, we'll see how easy it is to watch the 1s round come and go without a Rams pick

If Shanahan wanted Stafford badly, and a few other teams were reported to then that obviously drove the price up. The Rams two first round picks may be 31 or 32.

So the lions traded for what is essentially two second round picks, if things work out the way McVay obviously thinks they will.

Throw in that trading a first round pick a year from the coming draft is looked at as more of a second round pick. If it’s 31 or 32 it’s more of a third round pick.

Either way McVay didn’t think things were salvageable with Goff. Maybe they feel that once he got paid, he slacked off a bit. Seems that way to me. Stafford on the other hand has worked his butt off despite being on a shit team his entire career

That may be it.

It may work out famously. I dunno.

What this tells me mostly is that the Texans really aren't gonna trade Watson unless they get 4+ first rounders which no one's gonna give.

You don’t know me bro.

Don’t speculate intentions there guy. Just because you’re pissy about the trade doesn’t make you King Kong on the forum to make demands. The block button is a real thing if you don’t like what folks posts.

No, I don't know you, but if you're gonna do this bullshit snarky shit, we're gonna go at it. You can always block me.

And I'm not making demands. If you care about the forum, you don't gloat in the faces of fellow posters. We can disagree, but that gloating shit is for the birds, but it already seems like you're just gonna defend that with more "you don't know me, bro" nonsense.

Have fun making friends, BRO.
