I wish that Robinson/Smith had worked out for us. Would've made us a lot more competitive.

Oh well. At least we have Whitworth?

I'm not into mocking or even a draftnick.
My guess of Cordy Glenn was based entirely on common sense.
Glenn being a left guard or left tackle who was scheduled to go in the first round of the draft.
I had just watched Jeff Fisher GUT the o-line.
He got rid of Jason Brown and Jacob Bell and was bringing in stiffs like Quinn Ojannaka.

All we really had was Saffold.
One player does not an o line make.
We also had a franchise quarterback that needed to be developed and protected.
Even taking a skill player like a wide receiver doesn't make sense if you do not have an o line.
Cordy Glenn was a SEC proven player who was scheduled to go in the first round and fell to us in the second.

Taking Cordy Glenn was a no-brainer.

Instead, Fisher proved HE was a no-brainer.

The draft began about 9am where i live. I remember going to sleep thinking the rams were so lucky to have Glenn sitting there for them at top of the 2nd round. Perfect bpa meets need situation. I wake up and get ready to take my son to his soccer game and get to see the rams make their pick. The name Brian quick comes up. I curse and leave.

Hoped for the next couple of years that the rams knew what they were doing but quick never was able to put it together. Bad pick plus bad coaching equals bust.

I can only say that Cordy Glenn or Alshon Jeffery were the obvious pick over Quick.
And I do mean OBVIOUS.

Jake Matthews was the obvious pick over Greg Robinson and I do mean
O-B-V-I-O-U-S.

The point was not drafting any player at the time !! The point was to trade back with say Buffalo?? It was one of the deepest drafts of All Time !! Especially at the WR & O’line !!

The good news was The Rams found a nice player in Aaron Donald.

You mean the 7-9 bs. 9-7 would have prolonger the suffering. Perhaps 4-12 was the necessary kill shot to mercifully put us out of our misery.

Best thing that happened was the team quit on Fisher !! 4-12 was huge. Then again The Rams had to quality QB’s on the roster & trade a boat load of picks when they had a chance to be a top team.

I’m not saying things are bad & I don’t like where The Rams are at right now, or how they got here.

McVay & Goff are the future & would not trade it for a 4-12 season with Robinson & Fisher gone.
