How it feels watching Micah Kiser play ILB. Smh

"But it's only his 3rd start in the NFL... Let's extend his contract already ..."

The guy can't shed blocks to save his life and got abused in coverage today. If he's not playing a complete garbage team it makes it okay because he's Defensive player of the Week.

Dude is the Craig Dahl of LB's with the horrible angles he takes and the initial steps the wrong direction or horrid.

Got beat like a drum today. But he's been great in the run game so far.
Did you not seem him getting beat in the run game today to? Those Bills O lineman had glue on them when they touched Kiser he was permanently attached the rest of the play.

Anybody have Edge to see the different ratings in regards to Run vs Pass?

Overall grade of 41.2 Yikes! We might be able to find a waiver wire guy that's more consistent than this? Or foster a trade for a future pick?

Right now they don't have any choice but to give him a chance to start. Kiser is going to get increasing playing time.
Pass coverage MUST improve EVERY play and gap assignments are missed.

IN games allowed to play. Skill must be learned as his gap priorities are still not even LOCKED down. I personally want him to be our next London Fletcher but am affraid he's already too slow. I see he needs to make the MOST of his few chances to BLITZ. He must back up our weak run support up the middle BEING OUR THUMPER like in game one. Likes to lower his head too much. I truly want the RAMS to have someone who brings THE PAIN. At 244 he must be that guy.. Do we have a LB coach who can mentor him.? No more Hager or the Reeder guy we tried last year. Lets hone this guy with very hard work. Let's make him fit this Florio defense.Stop ALL ball carriers from anthing past 3 yards. I have dreams with correct coaching and film study that we can stop looking to the draft.Behind our noseguards should be KIZER to end the runs. He can be Aaron Donalds safety net. With the outside pass coverage of Young who needs coaching up BIGTIME. These two may be the answer if Taylor Rapp gets his act together besides a few rare tackles that seem to risk injury too often.

Hopefully Kiser won't miss much time. Reeder wasn't terrible but its a difference when he's not in.

Was just gonna post, some people were complaining that Kiser was too slow sideline to sideline... wait till they have to watch Reeder again.
Haha as much as I bitched about Kiser I hope he comes back soon!

Reeder left me. o_0

Kiser is not slow but he takes dumb angles at times that boogles the mind.

He tends to over run things too, which leaves him very susceptible to cut backs.
I think he is fast enough but lacks that change of direction ability....makes it hard to recover from a missed angle or read.
I don’t bag on Reeder as much as other posters here.
He’s an undrafted player....meaning we all know there are some physical limitations. He is a high effort, smart player with some limitations. In this case speed. Guys that have all three components usually don’t go undrafted.
So it goes.
He is a depth player that will have to get some snaps now. It doesn’t mean he sucks. The negativity directed at some of these guys gets tiresome.
I would expect to see Young and Hollins to get more snaps as well going forward.

Brandon Staley's defense is not running on all cylinders yet. It does not play well as a unit.

Snead really has not invested much at all in the interior LB'ing unit with its designated starters being 2018 5th & 7th rd selections. Not having our two best ILB'ers on the field due to injuries will surely hurt this team's chances in any game. Other than the above two Snead came into TC with an ILB'er cadre filled with UDFA's & one traded for 2019 ILB'er.

I believe Trevan Howard was a bigger loss than many know. Kiser's absence last season in the middle cost us many games. Young is a decent reserved backup but now Young is starting with only a fair amount of results & with Kiser gone from this defense makes it very mediocre @ best. Broncos discarded 2nd season LB'er Justin Hollis plays much better in the OLB'er Ebukam post than as an ILB'er. Reeder's best play comes in the run game up close to the LOS not 10 yds back in coverage. Reeder will always result in a pass completion matched up on an RB or WR.

The only other possible ILB'er prospect on the active roster is Natrez Patrick who was converted to the outside pass rusher by DC Wade, Joe Berry & Chris Shula after many seasons playing MLB'er @ Georgia. Staley does have two other signed MLB'ers in Daniel Bituli & Christian Rozeboom they could bring up if Kiser is going to be out for a while with his groin injury.

Agreed. Howard was a big loss for us. We can see that Staley's plan is to keep 2 ILBs on the field more than going with hybrid safeties, so Howard's loss was substantial.

I like Bituli but we also have Derrick Moncrief on the practice squad, so if we have to make a move, we have a couple of guys who can play.
