On the Rams plenty. McVay a better playcaller than anyone on the Colts.Taylor has 21 td in his last 3 seasons, with 131 1st downs
Kyren has 30 TD and 146 1st downs in his last 2 seasons
What good is that breakaway speed?
Better coach better qb better wrestling better offense. On the Rams plenty. McVay a better playcaller than anyone on the Colts.
That's ridiculous. On the Rams plenty. McVay a better playcaller than anyone on the Colts.
Not saying he hasn't. Just saying JT would be better and the only way to see it would be to envision how JT would fit in with a much better team such as the Rams. Guess you also missed the part where I said I wouldn't complain one bit if the Rams re-sign Kyren. I'm more so saying JT is just a better back and it would definitely show in our offense. I find it hilarious that anyone would allow that to rub them the wrong way when everyone knows that JT being a Ram is as realistic as any of us making the team lol. The conversation about this is pure fantasy at the end of the day. That's ridiculous.
Yeah, Kyren hasnt done anything special, its just the play calls. Got it
I'll keep saying Kyren is perfectly fine as a running back. I'd take Saquon, Jacobs, and Taylor over him, but the price always determines how that works out. Only reason to look at replacing backs when they get to their 2nd contract is because those contracts tend not to work out so well. Throw in the fact that a running back on a rookie contract costs a fraction of extending a back like Kyren, and thats why you see other teams doing just that. Ultimately we may not see much change there since there are other areas of concern the Rams will look to strengthen.Kyren has 84 1st downs (most in NFL) and 13 TD on 303 carries. 32% of his carries result in a 1st down or TD
How does that compare to other top backs?
Saquon- 73 1st D, 13 TD on 314 carries 27.3%
Henry- 78 1st D, 13 TD on 278 carries 32.7%
Jacobs-- 65 1st D, 13 TD on 278 carries 28%
Bijon- 61 1st D, 10 TD on 259 carries 27.4%
Taylor- 52 1st D, 8 TD on 237 carries 25.3%
Stop, you've dogged him from the jump over this ridiculous breakaway speedNot saying he hasn't. Kyren does many things well.Get off KW. So he might not have break away speed but everything else he does is at a high level.
Just the fact that he stones pass rushers, McVay will keep him around.
The kid from Michigan was just cheap insurance IMO.
Sign Kyren to a contract good for both sides and lets rock.
When we continue to build out O line it will get even better.
Most of us have been clamoring for sticking with the run. And we are getting it, why bitch ?
I mean, McVay ran it on 3rd and 3 Sunday. And got it ! Proud of him ! I wish it was from under center, but I will take it.
We would not have seen that last season. Think he even ran it on 3rd and 6 recently too.
Save it. I do not think there are 10+ better backs in the NFL.Kyren does many things well.
He is not the same level back as the top 10+ in the league.
PFF ratings through week 15 of 2024.
Last 3 years:I think that comparison between Taylor and KW showed Taylor having played more games in the last 3 years.
TDs are situational statistic. Gurley had 12 TDs in 2019 after his knees were shot. Some HBs are better than others at converting TDs, and Kyren certainly is good at it. But opportunity also plays a major role in it. Jonathan Taylor had 18 rushing TDs in 2021 and 11 rushing TDs as a rookie in 2020. It's not a skill he suddenly lost. I don't question whether Kyren is worth a second contract. I question whether he's worth the second contract he'll command.Stop, you've dogged him from the jump over this ridiculous breakaway speed
Now you're contradicting yourself just to avoid giving him credit.
Taylor's breakaway speed does nothing more than give fancy stats. Less 1st downs and less TD's. Less effective
Only 2 guys in Rams history have had back to back 15+ TD seasons, Gurley and Faulk. And when they did it, they won AP offensive player of the year. Now at a mere 24 years old, we got an RB who's done it and we question whether he's worth a 2nd contract?
Good grief
KWill is definately a top 10 RB this year. No 2 RBs are the same so comparing them is difficult. But his ability to set up his blocks, get yards after contact yardage and score are special. Best the Rams have had since 2017 Gurley (I’m projecting KWill to finish stronger than 2018 Gurley).Save it. I do not think there are 10+ better backs in the NFL.
Keep the one we have and sign to a reasonable contract.
Gurley was similar to the worlds most perfect beautiful stallion. This is still one of my favorite Rams photos in my 63 years of life.I love me some Todd Gurley now with his breakaway speed and smarts!
I remember in his first year, he broke away from all Cardinal(?) defenders and just lay down on the one yard line to let the time run down.. He could have had a TD, but chose to secure the win instead.
If I'm drafting a RB in the 1st round, it would be a Jahmyr Gibbs-like player. But we didn't draft Kyren in the first round and look at the production he has had for the team, which has been great. He is shifty with great awareness. He doesn't quit, ever. He's a blocking son-of-a-gun and TD machine! Will he hit a wall after a new contract? I don't know, but you roll the dice with this kid. I say re-sign him, Demoff!
