Didn't Reeder pick of Wentz in the end zone when we played the Colts?
I don't remember but I bet our trainers were running low on tape yesterday from taping up Reeder's ankles after all the times he was juked in the open field and missed tackles yesterday
It was a highlight play where the Colts were inside the Rams five, and Wentz attempted a shuttle pass but Reeder dove forward for the pick. Huge play early in a close game.

Either they think Jones is ready or there's other plans in the works. Although our LB play has been iffy, Young was still playing the best of that iffy group. Who knows.

Didn't read the whole thread, so I apologize if I repeat something that was already said.
Adds a little salary room and opens up a roster spot. Didn't we just adjust someone's contract to
save $3mil this year? Perhaps we have a player we want to add to the roster.

Good post but if i'm the Rams and wanting to bring in outside help, it's someone to help beat Kyler Murray. A better DB could help but better S/LB play would definitely make a dent IMO.
Honestly Corey Littleton would be helpful.

I wouldn't mind that.

But I also wonder if shipping out Young is also about playing Burgess more and having Rapp take his spot for passing downs

If they thought Jones was ready we would have seen a lot more of Jones on game day(s) IMO

LB play will not matter when it comes to beating Arizona or Green Bay. Likely looking at a CB and or locking up some OL now before the end of the season. Might get a little discount with the leverage you have of doing it now.

Raheem has been reducing Young's snaps. I guess he doesn't feel he needs him. I mean he can always play Ramsey at ILB. :eyeroll:

Seriously, Young wasn't likely to be re-signed next year. They have Howard and Jones they can rotate at the position. Maybe Morris is going to adopt Staley's one ILB concept. The ILB position is morphing into something akin to an in-the-box SS. Morris has found success as did Phillips in playing Rapp inside the box. I think more than anything it opens the door for Morris to use Rapp as his coverage ILB role. Young was acquired to fill a role in Wade Phillips 3-4 hybrid scheme as the coverage ILB.

The bottom line is that I don't see any real impact. Young's role began to shift under Staley and continued under Morris. He was more often than not played as an in-the-box SS more than a true ILB. Morris can use Jones on early downs and Rapp in that role on passing downs. Jones would possibly give them better play against the run and Rapp better coverage play on passing downs.

Wentz tried the same dumb ass play early against the 9'ers last night. Same result, not very smart IMO.

They didn't even mention his muff on that onside kick. Horrible day for Reeder. 26.4? Yikes!
Oh god yea dont remind me just as unathletic of a play as it gets. At least try to move your feet and show some soft hands. Just a brute robot that's slow with stiff hips. Maybe my least favorite player on this roster. Even if Ernest Jones is raw for his first week or two, he just needs to get the starts to accelerate his development and get Reeder off the field.

Well, Spags fired the equipment manager, so I guess we can expect anything to happen under Morris since he equally sucks.
