With two more pieces our OL starters, and depth, would go from shakey to a strong unit, with some players kicked to the practice squad

Torrence would be a great pick imo. I’d like a center too.

I really can't see Torrance getting out of the first, even if its a late first. He's unquestionably the best IOL in the draft, mammoth (6'5 347), and a mauler. I'd settle for the 2nd best, John Michael Schmitz. If they are intending to keep Allen though, I doubt they would be interested in taking JMS, who is likely center only at this point in his career. He's also a big boy 6'4 320lbs, so I think he could play some guard eventually too if needed.

People need to remember that this is liar's season.

:pointup:This is so true right now. Everyone is posturing.

This is the thing that kills me. Kendrick ran a slow 40. So he's a liability. Yet fans always say, "don't go after the workout warriors and terrific measurables. Take the guys with production". Kendrick played in the SEC and did pretty well. Named Defensive MVP of the Orange Bowl IIRC. And though he's susceptible to "long speed" he didn't kill the Rams......that falls on the lack of pressure.

Yeah… Man… I love Derion Kendrick. He played last season in the NFL at 21yrs old. Think about that… 21.

He was a 6th round pick.

Outstanding player for his draft position… and dude is soooo young. Technique can make up for speed and NFL training can elevate a 22yr old.

Great rookie season by this kid.

Give me an NFL contract at 21 and I would have fucked up pretty hard I think. So yeah that's impressive in a lot of ways.

I have seen JMS listed at 6-3 300. No bigger than Allen or Shelton. Now size is not everything. Kelcie is under 300, but is very athletic and uses leverage well.

The Rams could bring in a guy like tippman to be the next badger to start for the Rams. He looks to be a potential starter at Center who can also play Guard. AFAIC, all three interior jobs are up for grabs.

Hmm, wonder what site I looked at for the different size/weight. It was probably what was reported as his college size. I'm also sure he probably dropped some weight for the combine.

Havenstein.....

I know some have advocated to move him and I can see the possibility. I can also see keeping him.

For moving:

He is absolutely terrible in pass pro. He gets beat quite often. Good in the run game though. Of all the OL on the roster, he is the most tradable (meaning we'd get decent offers for him). His salary is HIGH, though if they were to move him it would have to be post 6/1.

Against moving:

He's a vet. Has remained consistently healthy. Can step up in big moments.

But with all the love Jackson gets coupled with Arcuri and Thomas inexpensively waiting in the wings and Noteboom probably the LT when he's healthy, a move isn't out of the question.

I’m not sure why you would move Havs this season if you are not getting draft capital for this coming draft. Better off trading him at TDL or after the season.

Unless you think he stinks and we have better. In which case, why would others want him and his high salary.
