I mean, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me for them to ask Allen to take a pay cut then cut him later but teams have done it. I'd imagine it leaves a bad taste in the players mouth. That being said, Jourdan has a crazy high accuracy when it comes to these things.

That being said, I'd be happy with Shelton at C, Allen cut for cap savings, and drafting a C in the draft for the future and think that's our best course of action.
The Center she mentions from Penn State is Juice Scruggs. He’s no Creed Humphrey but he would be a good pick in later rounds. He’s smart, well coached, no glaring holes in his blocking.

Q: So Note, Anchrum and Bruss are guards fighting for starting positions? A: My guess is this eliminates a FA but will include an IOL Draft Pick within their top 3 picks.
Q: Who backs up Shelton at OC? A: My guess is a Draft Pick within their top 3 picks in or scrap heap FA.

I'm hoping we take a IOL with one of our top picks but based off our predraft visits, it just doesn't look very likely. Hopefully i'm wrong.

I always look back at the pre draft visits after the draft. It seems early picks were in for visits quite often. So you are likely correct.

Maybe there is hope.

It basically says that the Rams talked to him before his workout, but he could end up being a first round pick.

Either way they had some interest in the highest guard. That’s gotta be a good thing.

Alaric Jackson  has to be our starting left tackle. Hes our best offensive lineman and I dont think its close.
Not saying you aren't a very intelligent fan with extensive knowledge of O lineman but I find it amazing with 2 starts at LT and 4 at G, a guy can be deemed "our best O lineman" or even "our best LT, G" (or whatever).

Not that Jackson has proven himself, it's that other Ram OL, besides Haverstien, have indeed proved that they are not capable or just barely so.

Jackson has looked good in a very small sample size with the Rams.
Coming season will tell us fans a lot about him and Bruss and other IOL, if we draft any or others we start.

I’ve never waivered either despite some pushback from a few members here.
Fair enough - Mcvay giving David Edwards Phrase & The Rams don’t have a backup plan at LG & never addressed RG with Austin Corbett leaving.

F” all that & not STANDING UP 4 Ram Players!! I get he is hurt all the time & probably shouldn’t have been resigned, but Whitworth’s replacement needed to been already groomed if not for him, then Havienstien.

Taylor Rapp & Bobby Evans were guys I stopped liking.Allen & Noteboom if they have down years it totally will STINK!! Here we are though. IMO Noteboom will finish his Ram career ok. I know it doesn’t look that way.

Jourdan hasn’t been a live for as long as I’ve been a Fan.She has that inside INFO. I’M A DOUBTER NOTEBOOM can play Guard.

Well , what are you actually predicting Train ? I think we have a pretty good size of who is who?
If you’re waiting for more,I’m with you. Just thinking more is less & experience is what is needed right now.
Wendle/Kromer have there work cut out for them.A’Jackson was a UDRFA less than 2 years ago.His upside & confidence should be even better,so I get him being one of the better O’Lineman.

You go back & I was 1 of the only 1’s to say A”Jackson is The Best RG The Rams have & Bruss stinks (as of camp).

I will continue to say A’Jackson is a BETTER GUARD than a LT. Preseason shows you that as well.

Yeah, juries still out on AJ but I'm excited about Jourdan's excitement over his potential.

I’m hoping for an iOL that can play both OC and OG with one of our top 3 picks. Let them fight it out for spots this year - but LT this pick is the future OC. Whether that starts Day 1 or next year.

100% agreed, he's our best LT and it's not close. Makes no sense to start Note at LT simply because he's not good at G (Reality is he's not good at either) Noteboom belongs on the bench as a swing T and hopefully he finds a better fit next offseason with another team. I like some of Arcuri's tape, hopefully he can step in to that swing T role next year.
1 on 1’s Arcuri shows good footwork.Who knows what his career will look like. He got CUT & put on the practice squad behind Bobby Evans .

Question is from your post as Noteboom being a Swing Tackle. Has he EVER played RT for The Rams even in the preseason.

Yeah - WEONG is close enough to that kind of thinking.

I guess what your saying is The Rams #1 pick in 2022 is a BUST?

People need to remember that this is liar's season. They will infer things and show things they want other teams to think about leading into the draft. I noted she said nothing about Thomas or Toner, both of whom the Rams went to great lengths to bury in their roster last year. I think it was an intentional move, in setting up for this year. People will assume that OG will be high in their second day draft cluster.

Allen Robinson has played exclusively at X WR for a reason. Why move him to TE? That's absurd because it sounds like she doesn't know the TE route tree. If she did she would realize that TEs run a truncated version of the Y WR route tree. Moving Robinson inside to Y would be the move if that was going to be the case. But the Rams have Skowroneck and Tutu inside already. Skowronek gives them the big body and Tutu brings speed. I see Robinson as a draft day trade.

Jourdan wasn't here when Noteboom was playing well uninjured. She wasn't here when Rochell won the starting CB position opposite Ramsey before he was injured. It was Morris who benched him for the same reason he was just fine with Ramsey being traded. Why? Neither are scheme fits for a passive zone defense. Why do you think Morris went with the much slower tandem of Hill and Kendrick? Kendrick dropped in the draft because of his lack of speed but also because of documented character issues some of which began to show up in his play on the field, but Morris ignored. So I find Jourdan's excuses for Morris without merit.

Jourdan hasn't done her homework and it showed when talking about the OL and Robinson to TE. I like her but my opinion of her took a step back. Right now she's half a step above the average beat writer nothing more.

Sounds like what was said about Brian Allen when he was drafted. Scruggs might have 5 or 10 lbs on Allen but that's about it.

This thread reminds of all the times McVay's comments are posted and they're just called coach speak. We also get a lot of criticism of Jourdan for just being a reporter and not an insider so to take everything she has to say with a grain of salt. It seems if McVay or Jourdan say something people want to hear it's deemed truth but if it's something else it's written off.

Yeah it doesn't make any sense and to my recollection it's something the Rams have never done. Trade possibly but I don't think they've ever cut somebody after redoing his deal. It's backwards thinking.

Why do you keep alluding to Cole Toner who became a free agent following the 2022 season ending ? He's no longer with our organization.

This is the thing that kills me. Kendrick ran a slow 40. So he's a liability. Yet fans always say, "don't go after the workout warriors and terrific measurables. Take the guys with production". Kendrick played in the SEC and did pretty well. Named Defensive MVP of the Orange Bowl IIRC. And though he's susceptible to "long speed" he didn't kill the Rams......that falls on the lack of pressure.

With two more pieces our OL starters, and depth, would go from shakey to a strong unit, with some players kicked to the practice squad

Not only that but the guy has been in the NFL since 2016 with 4 games started and 2 IR stints. And there are complaints about Noteboom???? Color me confused. Best kept secret in the NFL!!!
