They said most of the hit landed on the shoulder and only somewhat grazed the head. That's why they ruled not targeting. Seems like the right call to me.Scattebo just looks like a McVay type of player. Refs are giving this to TX tho..how was that NOT targeting??
The football gods disagree, and therefore they doinked the FG.They said most of the hit landed on the shoulder and only somewhat grazed the head. That's why they ruled not targeting. Seems like the right call to me.
Brother, they were down 17. They weren't coming back. They gave the ball to their best player. You play the game until it's over. If the HC tried to reward the guy who carried the team all year, good on him. That wasn't running the ball while trailing. Every game I've ever watched, a team down with 2 minutes left to go, passes the ball. If there's 30 or 40 seconds left they may hand off once and let the clock run out, so there are no additional injuries in a game completely settled. He ran the ball 5 times in the hurry up and then they passed a couple. Bush is the wrong word (I've slept on it )That was a head coach trying to get his star the record because there was no chance to come back. I'm just glad he didn't get it in that manner. Like Dieter said, it sucked he being allowed to break Sanders record with a bowl game included when Barry's bowl game didn't count. It would have been worse doing it in the final 2 minutes with a 17 point deficit. But the football gods prevailed.
Is he a talent? Absolutely. But the competition he faced was limited. He had a good game vs Oregon (#33 vs the run) and UNLV (#22) the second time around. In the first game they held him to 3.9 YPC. The next best vs the run was San Jose (#62), then Hawaii (#92) and WSU (#96). The other 7 weren't in the top 100. He met a top team last night (#7 D; #7 vs the run) and it showed. Not only was he held under 3 yards on 21 of his 30 carries, he fumbled twice. I'd draft him but those 374 carries (600 the last 2 years) worry me a bit.
Yeah, Bowers was a generational guy. Warren is not. I'd wait on TEs. There are likely to be some good value picks at the position in this Draft..I thought it was just me. I've watched this game and parts of others and given his size and hype I was expecting to see the next Gronkowski. But he looked slower and less fluid. Good player. Would help the Rams. But, I just cant get excited about him like I was with Bowers last year.
Jeanty ran all over Oregon.First good defense Jeanty has played against and it was obvious that Boise State did not measure up. It is hard for me to respect this team because they play the likes of Wyoming, Nevada, UNLV & the Rainbow Warriors of Hawaii. Give me a break, plus that blue field pisses me off every time I see it.
Boise State cannot move to better conferences because that university does not offer Graduate Programs. That is why they have not been able to move to the PAC12 several years ago or other conferences too. Hopefully they will adjust the seeding next year because that team did not deserve a bye, however, they did play with heart I will give them that, but it was obvious they were not on the same level IMHO.
Skattebo is a stud. He's the guy who makes the most sense for us. Think he'll be there in the 3rd. Offers the skillset McVay loves, but he has more power to his game than our current HBs.Looking forward to seeing Cam Skattebo play here in a few minutes. Not sure how he will do against a tough Texas team and game could get away from AZ State fast
Skattebo is one of my favorite players to watch, he runs as hard as any player I have seen in a very long time
And this happened again now in the Oregon game. The "bye teams" are getting off to slow starts where they go 2 scores down early. They spotted them a 14 pt lead. Could be an issue where these bye teams get off to slow starts since they haven't played in a month, while the non bye teams played 10-12 days ago.
Curious if Sawyer is more of a ILB even though I see they play him at edge a lot. Maybe a LB draft candidate.Oregon just isn't in Ohio State's class in the trenches.
That's what I said, the coach was trying to get him the record because the game was lost. I was glad he didn't get it 'that way'.Brother, they were down 17. They weren't coming back. They gave the ball to their best player. You play the game until it's over. If the HC tried to reward the guy who carried the team all year, good on him.
As for Jeanty, Penn State held him in check because of Boise's lack of talent. If Boise State had a passing attack Penn State had to respect and a good OL, it would have been a very different game. It's hard to be a one-man offense. Ask 2023 Saquon.
Jeanty ran all over Oregon.
Yeah he is an interesting player. I'd be surprised to see that but never know.Curious if Sawyer is more of a ILB even though I see they play him at edge a lot. Maybe a LB draft candidate.
I don’t think anyone said Warren is on Bowers level. Bowers is a generational talent with his speed, size, and athleticism. In most drafts with two top QBs Bowers would be a top ten pick.I thought it was just me. I've watched this game and parts of others and given his size and hype I was expecting to see the next Gronkowski. But he looked slower and less fluid. Good player. Would help the Rams. But, I just cant get excited about him like I was with Bowers last year.
It's funny how he'll probably go round 2 or 3 but when I watch their games he's usually the best player on the field. And he was again today.Scattebo just looks like a McVay type of player.
No reason for us to take a HB in the first (or the second, for that matter).
