I still say, as I did after it all went down, we can't blame him for being duped. He was told there was a franchise altering move coming but wasn't told what it was. And I'd bet his source didn't know what it was. That shit was being held very close ro the vest. Afterwards we learned Snead and McVay knew but it was on AD to make it public. Does anybody think with their integeity, they would tell anybody who might leak it to a podcaster? It was "whisper down the lane" which is why Jake played it the way he did. Everybody....Jake, his source and the people here at ROD thought it was an acquisition or trade. But that will never be admitted to because that would elicit a lack of confidence in him and his 'source'.
Gotta disagree, he made it sound like it was related to a FA acquisition. I now doubt he knew about the retirement as I would believe McVay and Snead over a podcaster. I truly believe it wasn't leaked out of respect for AD and now believe that Jake tied it to his saying it was a big move because I'm guessing the big move he was trying to predict just didn't happen. But making blanket statements will always come true lol. He said something major was going to happen by the end of the week. It was the first week of free agency. There was a pretty decent bet that something major was going to happen. And look at all the Rams players he kept mentioning that jourdan later refuted, stating that they never showed any legitimate interest in those players at all. Jake has good content. I like listening to his reactions to Rams related content a lot. He definitely embellishes his knowledge of what's happening in the Rams building. He makes a ton of predictions and statements that people seem to latch onto when they happen. I said the Rams should go after Darious Williams and Tre'Davious White. That doesn't mean I have inside knowledge. I just also predicted about 20 other players that they should get lol

He went to McVay and said, "I'm full". He didn't hold a team meeting. He probably did that to see how McVay wanted him to play it (read: team player/class act). I wonder how McVay (and Snead) reacted? Possibly, "keep it close to the vest and let us work some finances so we aren't in cap hell again". And more importantly, "let us make some free agent acquisitions before the world....and the free agents.....find out Aaron Donald will not be a Ram in 2024". I suppose both of those scenarios are possible.....I'm guessing because I don't have inside information.

And you don't think trading for Josh Allen or Brian Burns would be franchise altering? I disagree. Trading for them to play along side Aaron Donald would be franchise altering. Nobody knew AD was leaving. I'm guessing whomever tipped Jake to the Big Name, Big News didn't tell him AD was leaving, probably because they didn't know themselves. They might have heard around the facility, something big is in the wind.
The big question here is, 'what did he really KNOW'? As I've said before, I believe nobody but the top of the organizational food chain knew and with the unquestionable level of their integrity along with their total respect for AD, they aren't going to leak it to anybody. Let alone somebody who would leak it to a podcaster. Come on man. It is my strong belief the answer to the big question is, 'he didn't know' and if you really look at how he played it....in a thread about acquistions along with the comment, he thought it would be 'nice' to give us some inside info something big was coming....clearly he fucked up. Yeah, it would have been "nice" to know AD was retiring before AD came out and said so. That way, we wouldn't have been so devastated.
Having said all that, I wish Jake success. He'll learn from this particular experience and probably play things differently next time. It's not like somebody set him up or anything (unless he said, 'give me a scoop I can use on my podcast'). He got some inside info and thought it was something other than it was. Shit happens. And we learn from it.
