I saw an article come across my phone earlier today that said Fisher was staying with Keenum (Goff would remain the back-up).
I haven't seen anything like that but it wouldn't surprise me if these talking heads are talking out their asses. I hope to see Goff play. I won't go ape shit if it doesn't happen.

View attachment 17619 Great news and happy as everyone else seemingly is. I just hope this holding him back pays off and he plays a blinder but if not the supporters cut him some slack and are patient.

Really looking to see how he performs against Miami when I'll be watching in Nashville then seeing him live in the Superdome

That's awesome, unfortunately the first thing I noticed with your pic is it has a pic of Brian Millner after recovering Az Hakim's whiffed punt in the 2000 playoffs that knocked us out of it. New Orleans ticket masters trolling well I see.

But gratz on the tix.

Article on NFL.com states " ESPN first reported the news, and the team later confirmed the switch to Goff."

The Rams official site is reporting it.

Since draft night, head coach Jeff Fisher has maintained that No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff will become the Rams’ starting quarterback when he’s ready. That time has come, as Goff will start against the Dolphins on Sunday.

Fisher has said week after week that Goff has been making steady progress both on the field and in the classroom. Offensive coordinator Rob Boars recently described how the rookie has started to ask higher-level questions, demonstrating his knowledge of the offense. And with the rookie receiving the vast majority of Los Angeles’ first-teams snaps during the bye week, Boras said Goff’s understanding came through in practice.

“That practice Wednesday, I thought it was great,” Boras said on Nov. 2. “You could just see the confidence with what was going on. The wheel weren’t turning when he got up to the line of scrimmage, and he was real accurate, and decisive with what he was doing. I’ve kept talking about how well he’s been doing in the classroom; it was time to see it out here with all those reps that he got. I think we were all really pleased to see what was able to do in those couple of practices.”

On Monday, Fisher said Goff has been pushing to get behind center, likely a product of the quarterback’s competitive nature.

“He’s ready, he’s preparing, and doing well,” Fisher said, later adding, “He’s anxious and confident.”

Playing his college football at Cal, Goff earned the starting role as an 18-year-old true freshman, and started every game for which he was eligible. In doing so, Goff set 26 program records and set Pac-12 single-season records with 4,719 yards passing and 43 touchdown passes in 2015.

Now the Rams will begin their own Goff era, with the expectation that he will become their franchise quarterback. Kickoff on Sunday is slated for 1:05 p.m. at the Coliseum.

laid the smack down on Fishers ass and told him to start Goff.

Dude can't be any worse than Keenum has played TBH.

Sucks he is starting vs Suh :/

Mannion should be the backup and Keenum should be inactive but that won't happen. Goff should have started vs. the Panthers. sigh this feels good... LETS GO!

I can actually hear playoff talk now but Fishy waited two weeks too late.

I have been saying the same thing since the Giants game.....Goff can't be any worse than Keenum. And Fisher waited four weeks too long IMO.

I'm not trying to argue with you as you may end up being right. But I seem to remember Bradford having more passes batted down than Keenum. I don't necessarily think it's all about height on that. If you tip off a D-lineman when the pass is coming, he will put his hands up. A 6'5" D-lineman is going to bat down any QBs pass if he knows when and where it's going.

That being said, I think Goff has better touch and accuracy, so you may be right anyway. I think more important is his ability to see the middle of the field. I'm hoping that opens up TA and Higbeast for not only move the chains plays but big hitters on crossing routes.

Either way, I can't wait to see the kid play.

Sick bastard! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Goff has a very quick release that should make it harder for defenses to block his passes.

Believe it. Goff is starting Sunday. It has been confirmed by the Rams on NFL Network.

That of course is only of use if the receivers manage to get some quick separation, something they're not exactly famous for.(y)
