It's the Rams way

Chargers make a lot of sense. A lot of cap space, AFC contender who needs WR help, he fits Harbaugh's system since he is great blocker, he gets to stay in LA, and yes the Rams probably do him a favor and take less for him.
I'm getting a bit tired of that "taking less" thing. Got fleeced on Ramsey and about to get fleeced on Kupp. 2 HOF level players leaving our roster nonetheless.

Sure, the guy balled out for us. Going forward, we should do what makes the team better. Kupp is gonna get paid either way. He'll not suffer much.

Don't get why the Rams didn't try to restructurebor do a pay cut as based on his reply, he seems he may be open to it as he doesn't agree. He'll probably tear our asses up if we play against him.
I don’t think it’s strictly a money decision. I think Snead and McVay think he’s never gonna come close to his 2021 form.

I know, just throwing that thought out there. Regardless, a sad, sad day. To me it also shows we will be targeting WR in FA or probably the draft.

Ehh. It was time. I’ll never forget his 2021 season. But he’s been hurt constantly and averaged about 10 ypc. After his injury in 2022 I knew he would never be the same again.

I think they want him completely off the books by the time they have to re-sign that Puka rookie class in 27' by moving him now, they still might have dead cap left over in 26', but none in 27'.

If its eventual, make it immediate.

Translation: I refused to take a pay cut despite me being continually injured and the Rams can pay my contract that we agreed to.

McVay: Don’t make me tap the sign [We > Me].

Don’t get me wrong this hurts, it’s the end of a mini era.

Who says they didn't?

I think youre assuming quite a bit. Kupp has done so much for this team and has been the epitome of "we, not me." As a fan of the team, it's honestly kind of disgusting to suggest otherwise. Kupp has restructured several times already. That's partly responsible for why his current cap hit is so high. Like others have mentioned, I assume this is a move to clear the books in the future for Puka. Not to mention Sneads motto is "if it is inevitable, make it immediate."

I was hoping they'd renegotiate his salary. He has to know he's not gonna get paid what he's getting paid here unless he's traded and even then I would suspect they would also want to restructure. I'm sure it's something a suiter would mention.

Kind of sucks that he was the one who came out and said it and not the rams. But until the deal is done he's still a ram. I don't see anyone beating down the door to grab him for next year.

This is why the Eagles game was devastating—there was a good chance that it was gonna be Kupp’s last game in horns. Turns out, it was. Thanks for everything 10.

Me! Lol....but sounds like Kupp would have negotiated but we'll never know since the Rams are good about that kinda stuff not leaking.

As others have pointed out he's already restructured a couple of times. Which is why the chicken's have come home to roost.

I hate it. Dude is still a great player. He deserved to retire a Ram.

I wonder if this impacts Stafford's decision to return?
I wonder if it was driven by Stafford's contract renegotiations. Staff is slightly underpaid and Kupp is significantly overpaid.
