Yeah, that's why I started with the caveat that there is no way to know for sure. I'm going by reports post mortem after the trade deadline had passed so bidding was over.

My impression was that the Rams were underwhelmed by the offers but could have traded him if they were willing to accept something less than a premium pick.
They would have had to give him away with that contract. It’s likely teams wanted them to eat a good portion of it too. It seemed like a tough sell to me. Stafford on the other hand though. I could see them getting a decent couple of picks for him. I hope they don’t do it.

Wow! Knew it could happen but hoped it wouldn't. Every great player, sooner or later, gives way to the next generation of great players. Hate to see it happen but that's life. For all of us.

The Rams problems on offense go beyond Kupp. If they had a faster RB, and another receiver and TE that stretch the field then Kupp is fine working underneath.

But when defenses don’t respect the Rams ability to stretch the field and they stack the box it neutralizes what Kupp can do underneath.

Kupp is making too much for his role, but which team would take on that contract?
The Commodes have $90M in cap space and could use a veteran presence. Probably won't get much in return, but I could see them being interested. Now, do the Rams trade him to an NFC contender?

Whoever trades for Kupp is going to need a fair amount of cap space, unless they trade and restructure him right away.

Some here have said that Coen and the Jags might be the most likely fit.

I knew it would happen, given his salary and his decline. It sucks, but it's rare to see players finish with their original team like AD did. Deacon didn't. Isaac didn't. Torry didn't. And Kupp apparently won't.

But we will see him in the Rams Ring of Honor, and he will retire a Ram.

Nothing sports related will ever hurt as much as seeing Ike in a Whiners uniform. But moving on from Kupp might be close.

Chargers make a lot of sense. A lot of cap space, AFC contender who needs WR help, he fits Harbaugh's system since he is great blocker, he gets to stay in LA, and yes the Rams probably do him a favor and take less for him.

Don't get why the Rams didn't try to restructurebor do a pay cut as based on his reply, he seems he may be open to it as he doesn't agree. He'll probably tear our asses up if we play against him.
