Not so sure that I'd go with absolutely. Perhaps the marriage wouldn't have fractured as soon. I'd suspect that we might still have seen him shipped off, perhaps a year or two later which would have meant we missed out on Stafford and that Superbowl potentially.
The league started to have our number offensively, I suspect Goff would have still struggled the next year regardless as McVay moved towards a more drop back passing attack. Oddly, I find the more interesting question is if Cooks hadn't had concussion issues and we moved off him too quickly and the oline had gotten a few tweaks to have been better the two years after the superbowl, we might have seen Goff stick around longer.
Interesting sliding doors moment.
Edit: But I think the interesting thing is what Ben Johnson was able to do for Goff that McVay couldn't, turn him into a very good drop back passing QB. I'm sure that all-pro oline helped (with a stud center). Will be interesting to see how Goff fairs without Johnson and the hits that oline took at center and guard.
