Since Goff was drafted #1 in 2016, there have been 119 QBs drafted (120 including Goff). 35 drafted in the first round, including Goff, 42 in the first two rounds. Of those 118 other QBs, 4 have played in a Superbowl. Mahomes (5), Hurts (2) Burrow and Purdy (1 each). Of those other 41 drafted in the first two rounds, 3 have played in a SB. There have been a number who've made it to the CCG. Obviously Mahomes (7), Hurts (2), Burrow (2), Goff (2), Purdy (2), Allen (2) and Danials (1).

If you look back at the QBs drafted each of the last 10 drafts, there are some drafts where many went in the first round. 2018 (5), 2021 (5) and 2024 (6). At the moment they look completely different though. The 2024 class has had just one year but looks promising. So did 2021 after 1 year. 2018 seems to have had some staying power. Mayfield, Allen and Lamar went in the first round as did Darnold. Previous to that draft, you have Mahomes and Goff, Prescott if you're a Cowboys fan. :laugh4:

My point is this......of all the QB drafted since Goff (120), he's one of the top 8 to 10. Maybe higher if there's a disconnect from being a fan. Hell, you could go back 6 years BEFORE Goff and he'd still rank up there until you get to 2012 (Luck), 2009 (Stafford) or 2008 (Ryan). But by then we're talking about current coaches coming out of college as QBs (Zac Robinson 2010; Kevin O'Connell 2008, etc.)

So we can hate on the guy. Call him whatever makes us feel good. But reality is he's pretty good QB and has helped 2 teams get to the CCG. That ain't an accident. But who cares? He's not a Ram anymore!!!!

I don't think the question with anyone with half a brain is if Goff's been a good QB, it's been if he has what it takes to be a SB winning QB. To lock it in when it comes down to it and the answer to that is NO.

He does have the gut check capability in him to complete a whole season, and the evidence supports that conclusion. As of right now he's comparable to a Matt Ryan, nothing more.

To this point in his career, the answer is "no". He's beginning his 10th season in the NFL (man how time flies!!!!) so he's got time. Fortunately for him, he's playing for a good team. Unfortunately, they just lost both their coordinators. So if they're gonna win anything, it would take a stellar effort from him. I hope he doesn't accomplish it ..... for personal reasons. But in year 10 our very own Matt Stafford hadn't shown he had what it took to even win a postseason game, let alone a Lombardi. That being said, we can look back over NFL history and see many stellar QBs who can't say they had what it took to win a Lombardi....without the Lombardi.

Absolutely true. And not a bad comparison at all.

Yeah, the things we'll talk about leading up to camp and the start of the season. What a bunch of slackers! After talking to Ram fans for the last few decades, I think Ram fans see Rams QBs in 3 different decending lights.

Warner, outta nowhere, winner of a SB (also a 2 time SB loser FWIW)

Ferragamo, outta nowhere, loser of a SB

Everett, high draft pick, never played in a SB

Goff is squeezed somewhere under Ferragamo and over Everett. Stafford is in there with Warner, probably a little lower if not for all the Kurt/Brenda drama. he did what we got him to do.
