I'm beyond thrilled at the what I saw as a thrashing of the Bucs. Sure, their D had some injury issues.. but the offense was whole. Antonio Brown had six catches in 2 games and they still have Miller and Johnson, so I'm not buying that they were short at all.

This just looked like a complete team. Yeah.. I'm hoping the run game develops more, but I think that will come and that Tampa still has a stout front seven against the run.
The Rams passing game is sublime and only 3 games into their work together. Damn!!! We got a chance to see what integrating Djax looks like... and, well, that was fun!!

The defense was great today, imo. I think there was some meaningless yardage in there and they made some big plays when it mattered.

The Rams, as an organization, are just impressive.
I'm sorry, when you lose that many coaches and coordinators and key players and come back *better* (as a team, overall), you are damn, damn good organization.
Raheem Morris looks like he's getting a handle on this D and getting into a rhythm. Rams are averaging 3 sacks a game, which will get it done.

Player development on this team is friggen incredible. Getting a high number of mid and late round picks and then hitting on a high number of them is just fantastic.
SJD-6th, Gaines-4th, Lewis-3rd, Fuller-6th, Long-3rd plus guys who cost *nothing* to acquire in Reeder, Hollins and D Williams.. and a smart trade acquisition in Young. Wow.
Edwards-5th, Corbett.. 5th (trade), Allen 4th.. Michel (4th&6th)... Wow.

The Rams are unorthodox. They're doing things in a different way, but they're also, obviously, doing the most basic football roster building thing. They're finding guys they believe they can coach and they make them better.

Just fantastic stuff.. again, I'm giddy. Sorry for the stream of consciousness.. but having a lot of fun.

I will agree with you on & about our offense Rams can easily go four wideouts against any team having corner injury issues & win almost all battles.....However, the Rams secondary will be the Rams' Achilles heel in big games.

Fuller Rapp Williams Long Scott as a group have turned in very poor games if not for the DL & LB'ers great efforts the Rams would be a 1-2 team at this point in time.

I don't see it.
I see them going through some growing pains as a unit, but being pretty darn good.

I see no growing "pains" with this offense it's still just getting broken in & appears operating as one of NFL's top.

Your "but being pretty darn good" have to be commenting about the offense, not the defense because you can not be thinking what you saw from the Rams secondary yesterday was pretty darn good.

Kupped if you have the time please can you share comments on what you saw in the Rams secondary that was good other than Ramsey? Brady completed 41-of-55 passes for 432 yards & No, not most of that yardage came in garbage time.

I do not think Brady enjoyed his day in LA...:laugh3:

Not according to Bill Parcels. You are what your record says you are.

Yes, I do mean the Rams secondary with both comments.
They're going through some growing pains with two new starters and one starter who's a second year player with more responsibility this year.
Yes, They're good. The Bucs were the torching the NFL before this game and the Rams D only let them in the end zone three times... with one of those three times being completely irrelevant.

Williams hasn't played to last year's level and we haven't seen Burgess this year and Rochelle's a rookie. Those three things alone make me think that there's a lot of growth still in this unit.

I understand about the secondary, but it is not as bad as you make it out to be. I too have written about it and I am not sure why DWill isn't showing up like last year. Is it the scheme?

Still trying to assess how much JJ4 meant to us. Next week will be a big test because AZ has 4 great wrs. Maybe it is time to gel in a new d especially since Ramsey is all over the field. I just hope he stays on DHop all game and takes him out of the game.

Dwill hurt his ankle in preseason, I think that's at least part of it.

We didn't see nearly as much Rochelle this week, it seemed. I'll have to look at snap counts when they come out.

I think one of the differences for DWill is not having Ramsey take out the best WR each game.

Evans was getting away with pushing him off pretty easily. A couple of those could have been penalized but so could half of the plays for holding.

Just saw the snap counts and commented.
No Rochelle. What happened? Was there an injury designation? Or maybe they felt like this game was too much for a rookie.
Guessing here ...DC went with extra deep safety Nick Scott much more often than going with another corner in his base 5 DB defense & even in his prevent D with 6 DB's.

With Brady being able to complete most all his passes @ will adding a rookie would have not been wise instead he went with his safety in his 4th season.

Rams DB's
Ramsey 6th season/played in 78 gms with 77 starts.
Scott 4th yr./ played in 34 NFL gms.
Williams 4th yr./35 gms 16 starts.
Rapp 3rd yr./ played in 27 gms with 18 starts.
Long 3rd yr. /27 gms with 4 starts.
Fuller 2nd yr./ played in 15 gms with 15 starts.

Well they were going against the GOAT so hard call on the DB’s.I think the group will be okay. Can’t see them not having upside though.

That wouldn’t preclude Rochelle from getting worked in for a few snaps for Long or Williams.
Just a big change from previous weeks.

I mean.. not even on three last drive?
Wonder if the kid was late for something.

Well still waiting on all the hype about Burgees.I thought you were saying at some point he was The Rams backup CB? I recall some in the board posting with those thoughts?

I’ll just stay with Williams,Rapp & Fuller. They may not be the best in The NFL but between those 3 players they have a total of 38 tackles in the last 2 GAMES. 59 tackles for the season,so I think a ling the line of bend & don’t break they are making a lot of plays.
In Raheem Morris he is asking a lot from them.Cover skills could be better, but a long the line of player development Williams is making $16 million this season & next season The Rams will be looking to develop another CB to replace him.
A comp pick should be what The Rams will earn for his service as a Ram.

I'm gonna say this:

The secondary was up against an excellent receiving corps with a great QB, who got down big, could not run, so Brady had to throw.

It was the same for the Bucs secondary. They were up against an excellent receiving corps and early on, the Rams couldn't run either.

The Rams won.. and I don't at all see the secondary playing poorly. They came up with plays as the field got shorter for the Bucs...and when they got up big, they played soft to not give up the big play.

Sure...they can...and I think they will get better...but "poor play"...against that receiving corp, with Brady throwing the ball???
I didn't see it. Every game you're gonna see mistakes...and yes...the Ram secondary made some and Evans...in particular hot away with at least 3 push-offs that I saw.

Nah...the secondary didn't play poorly...they played smart...and they will get better!

The safeties need to improve. It's a problem. At this point I'd move Rapp into the box with Young and pair them as our ILBs on a permanent basis. Then I'd start Juju at FS. Laugh all you want, but his instincts and ability to break on the ball in PRESEASON games may translate. It's worth a shot IMO.
