I wish a reporter would ask the question, so coach what was wrong with last year's #1 D that you are trying to fix.

It could be. I agree that they are asking more of Williams. Hopefully not too much. He had a breakout year just last year. I’d say keep it simple but they have him alternating with Ramsey at the Star position.

Fuller has garnered much praise for his football intelligence. His brain may not be the problem. I think he looks too slow on the field. Rapp has never been good in coverage. It’s not his game. He’s a box safety.
I agree--I think lack of quickness in our safeties is a problem.

Last season's defense was a mirage. #1 defense? In the playoffs the Rams were steamrolled by the Packers.
So… a full season of excellent performance means nothing because they laid an egg in a game where the best defensive player in the game played hurt?

Good talk.

Yes, I do mean the Rams secondary with both comments.
They're going through some growing pains with two new starters and one starter who's a second year player with more responsibility this year.
Yes, They're good. The Bucs were the torching the NFL before this game and the Rams D only let them in the end zone three times... with one of those three times being completely irrelevant.

Williams hasn't played to last year's level and we haven't seen Burgess this year and Rochelle's a rookie. Those three things alone make me think that there's a lot of growth still in this unit.
Totally agree, we have a bunch of young players on D and a new coordinator. The D will get better.

Our offense scores a shyte ton of points, quickly. Make Tom Brady accept long drives and put pressure on him, which they did. They frustrated the crap out of him, This is a great defense because they chose what they allowed Brady to have: few if any big plays, and let him gain yards in slower way.
Rams actually had a slight edge in time of possession which I thought was a big accomplishment.
