Unfortunate as it is, the reality facing the Rams is what to do about it. The injury the timing of the injury and factoring in it's severity the Rams and Higbee have decisions to make. Tyler's extension basically runs through the 2025 season. Given Higbee's age does he even want to rehab that hard for at best one and a half seasons? He's going to be 31 this year. He's got a cap hit of $12.1M in 2024 with $11.8M dead cap this coming year.

It wouldn't surprise me if he medically retired or if the Rams reached an injury settlement with him. Davis Allen looked like he's ready to assume the starting role. Long is a work in progress. Tyler has his ring and nothing left to prove. He will get his guaranteed money regardless.

McVay talking like they definitely want Higbee back. And don't discount how these procedures keep getting better every year... recovery time keeps shrinking.

I'd guess that Higbee will be back by October.

It depends on the severity - OBJ wasn't able to come back at all the following year.

I wish Higbee a quick and successful recovery. But even before his “cheap shot” injury it was apparent the Rams needed a succession plan. Long is all but out of the mix. Rams don’t seem high on Hopkins. I think Allen could be a Higbee replacement but I wouldn’t mind a real weapon at TE being added this to the mix. Sounds like Rams had strong interest in LaPorta last year so perhaps it high on their list for the right guy.

Theo Johnson from Penn St or the kid from TCU... late 3rd or early 4th if they get 4th rd pick. Both big and can move & block.

Yes, you are correct. Got it wrong. Working late into the night and simply blew it.

Sorry -- here is the right one.

And looking at it, there was no completed rip move and there was a grab outside the technical definition of the grap. So, being honest, on this play a hold was justified.

Yes it was,but it was sort of digging. Got put into a spot that he couldn’t get out of because of the defensive player drawing it.Wasn’t really a play effecting anything.
I will always say not as the John Sullivan call of holding. Also The Rams were only a quart away from winning the Superbowl.

That holding call,or holding imo very well could of kept The Rams from winning another one.I liked there chances.
-I wonder about this team, because I thinking they are a lot better overall big time.
Rams win total is still only 8 1/2 in a 17 game season ? My fear is the Hags at 7 1/2. Arizona is 7 1/2 as well.

Saw a preseason game & Josh Allen looked like dog do.He was just voted most overrated QB in The NFL.He got away with his running skills, but seems to have gotten worse and beyond his prime.Stills has a killer arm,but was always inaccurate since his Wyoming Days.Solud dude & competitive.
NE will struggle to win 4 1/2 games.Zach Thomas might even get a couple starts there. The Jets & Miami are going to battle to win that division.

Instructions to Kam Kurl:

“Make sure you tackle Laporta by launching head-first at his knee while he is looking back for a pass. Then we will send a video to the Lions showing we took their advice on how to tackle and to blame the league that Laporta is on IR.”

I would be mortified if a Rams player did that. That's not them.

I remember years back when a Rams db, can't or don't want to remember his name, gave a vicious helmet to helmet shot on a (stealers?) receiver. I think he ended his career. I couldn't believe a Rams player did that. Had to be during the fisher years.

Nah, I hope either Avila or Dotson decleat Joseph on a screen play. Knock his ass to Mars.

Nah, no retaliation. Just do your job and pressure/hurry/harass Goff this time. He’ll help you win the game if you do that.

When I played ball we used to set up plays to get coverage a certain way where the WR would crack the living hell out of a dirty player that split or covered someone to set him up to get clocked. There are dirty players that need to be mediated to maintain the game. Usually it always seemed it was a safety or a linebacker. There are some unwritten rules in the game but I guarantee you McVay has this on his mind. He realizes what happened.

The universe needs correction.

I’m usually a “take the high road” guy, but I can’t stand dirty players.
Dirty players going down, are the only players I celebrate getting hurt.
Fuck ‘em.

I'm just saying I hope for plenty of 1v1 opportunities with Joseph against our guards. Whatever happens, happens.

Piece of shit did the same thing to T.J. Hockenson a month earlier.

Could have gone at the thigh, the waist, the stomach, the chest or the shoulders.
Joseph went for the knees both times.

Because he’s a self proclaimed “dog”. A little chihuahua who is an ankle biter vs a pitbull who goes for the jugular.

In the trenches at my highschool in practice, We had a DT would throw punches, kick you in the balls, and all sorts of crazy dirty things, to his own team during practice. I got fed up one time and just grabbed the dude's facemask and dragged him clear across the line. No one batted an eye at me, and the D tackle got yelled at for being way out of position. We had run a weak side pitch and I had dragged this guy from 3 technique all the way to the tight end way far from the play. I don't recall having issues with him after that.

Late/high hits on their QB and skill guys is fine by me though. I actually think the Rams need to play that way in games like this. Set the tone early and let the Lions retaliate and lose focus.

I can’t say I’d like to see our guys intentionally injure anyone. Getting a win there will put a hurt on em.

Right, I don't want to go back to Fisher ball, but if an opportunity arises, bury him. When they have a chance to grab him, then drive him into the ground.
