Made a few flag shelves to pass the time. Need to finish the black & white. My son claimed the flag theme shelf.

Made some Red Oak, Walnut, and Maple cutting boards. Takes longer to glue/dry than the rest of the work.

I second @rdlkgliders at loving your work. I used to do a lot of carpentry, but my back problems have pretty much eliminated that as a hobby any longer.
I' don't know if your flag is more of a labor of love or a business venture, but the one project that I never completed was of similar size, ... it's a wooden puzzle using various unpainted hardwoods of different color & origin to distinguish each piece. The puzzle itself is basically the lower 48 states and the other two would hang separately but nearby. Each piece is removable and can be placed back to its original position. I was going to donate it to my old middle school for geography class use as it seems many kids don't appear to be able to differentiate between their own home state and bum-f..k Egypt any longer. No state names or labels were going to be used on the puzzle pieces, that they had to learn.
Admittedly, its a pretty big project, but if you want to run with the idea, have at it and use it as you will. Best to be pretty handy with a router for each piece as well as a bandsaw and/or jigsaw.

That sounds amazing. I’ve seen something like that a while ago. It was rather small and a cookie cutter style. I’ll have to give that some thought. I run a small business, my busy season is starting up. If I do under take that project I’ll let you know. This is just a hobby. I sale a few flags here and there. I try to find new things to make so that I don’t lose interest.

I have rekindled a childhood hobby… started almost 2yrs ago. @Selassie I and I exchange pics of our tanks from time to time.

He’s got a big saltwater tank, I have a freshwater hobby tank.

This is a 10 gallon acrylic tube. It is my only tank. 3 fish in this photo are originals from when I started more than 1.5yrs ago.

There are actually 3 more fish not pictured, in there somewhere.

I am so glad I restarted this hobby.

I have a lot of fun decorating it and giving them things to swim around.

Any other Aquarium guys out there?

I love tropical fish tanks, been in and out of the hobby for most of my life. I went from store-bought to breeding more exotics

When I lived in Carlsbad I had a 250 gallon tank. It had only one fish in it. I put a small 6" bass that got caught up in my crayfish trap in it. When I finally released him when I moved to Mexico the bass was close to 10 lbs. The fish was smart and recognized people and things. It loved to watch certain TV programs. If I changed the channel or turned it off before he was finished he would violently thrash around in the tank until I returned it to his channel. One day I gave him 2 dozen nightcrawlers one at a time. He couldn't swallow the last one completely as about a quarter of it was hanging out of his mouth like he was smoking a cigar. Then I threw his favorite food in, big goldfish. I threw a dozen in. He immediately regurgitated the worms and promptly chased down and ate all the goldfish. Then he re-ate about a dozen worms.

The bass would fight the cat through the plexi. The fish would thrash and blow bubbles with his mouth and the cat would be howling and pawing at the plexi. The bass and my GF's cat were friends. He liked my ex-wife and her dog. He disliked some and liked others of my friends and my GF's family. I had a big bluegill in the tank with him originally, but as soon as he got big enough (one or two pounds) he killed it. Didn't eat it just killed it.

I released him into a nature reserve pond that no one fished. I had all kinds of fish in that tank but the bass was the best and what I had the longest. Aquariums are fun but a lot of work. Too old for that stuff now. The only fish in my house now is sushi or for beer batter fish and chips.

I've had a tank since I was 6 when I used to catch all my aquarium fish and creatures myself back in Hawaii. It's more than a hobby for me... it's like a requirement lol.

I've got a 300 gallon saltwater tank. It's keeping my bumblebee grouper and a zebra moray right now. The bumblebee is over 10 pounds now. He's a savage. His species grows to 1000 pounds. Yeah... I won't be able to keep him forever. He's fucking cool now though. He will chase my dog's toys across the tank when they are thrown by the tank.

I'll sell him soon when I get a good price. I'm going to get 6 blue lobsters... They're just like Florida lobsters but with much better colors and legal to keep when they are small... they'll grow just as big as Florida bugs though. I'm gonna get a school of 6 Lookdowns too.

My son has a very cool reef tank in his room here too. Mainly corals but he's got some cool fish and inverts also. You can check out his tank's Instagram account for some cool pics/vids. He's really got some rare stuff. He's got a vid of my grouper eating there too that was taken some time back... The account name is fitzreef . Check it out fellow fish peeps.

I too have joined the cutting board revolution.. these are made from scrap ipe , maple and oak

ended up ripping down the one on the left, put some cabinet door handles on it and called it a charcuterie board.Gave them both to the customer whose house the scraps came from

I also made a chessboard out of the same scraps for my employee for his 40th birthday.
Made maple box and a strip hinge to store the chess pieces in. But the box has a false bottom with an RFID lock that he can open with his phone.

I know I took pics of it but cant find them on my phone

That is awesome work. I’ve held off making more boards with the price of wood. The mineral oils makes the wood pop.

check local sawmills

I found a tree guy who sells rough cut planks with the live edge still on them for anywhere from $3 to $5 a lineal foot. Im talking 9-10 inch wide and about 1"thick . But you need a good planer and joiner

One of my fish had babies about 3 weeks ago. Believe it or not, there are up to 11 still alive. I think it’s 10.

There are two in this photo.

I have 9 adult fish in this tank that could still eat these guys… but another week or so, they might be big enough to avoid hiding 98% of the time. They come out at feeding. Somehow they sense food in the water.

I have real course gravel and lots of rocks and plants in this tank. They have lots of places to hide.

I have an orchard in my small backyard. Today I made some white peach, vanilla and brown sugar jam. Don't like it too sweet so light on the brown sugar.
