The money train is flowing in LA right now hahaha

Tyler appeared to be coming along well last year, even breaking tackles to gain more yards at times. Sean & Jared just need to utilize Tyler & Gerald Everett more often. And Gerald needs to show he knows how to block like a real man, so no one else goes Belichick on us ever again, damn it!!!

Kupp and everyone else do extensions will get their money as well. Remember Rams just signed a huge naming rights deal for the stadium. So the money train won't be stopping anytime soon.

They haven't signed a stadium deal and even if they had that wouldn't affect money to sign players.

Weird.... Ive been hearing all offseason how Everette has been a beast blocking this offseason and really thought Higbee would start to be phased out a little for the more athletic Everette but this suggest otherwise. I'm not upset about this just a little down on Everette. Thought this might be the year he breaks through and adds the Jordan Reed dimension to this offense but with them giving Higbee top ten money I think he will continue to be on the field 60 or 70% of the time leaving Everette the scraps.

Oh ok i thought they had per the article

But i do believe they will have the money for those other players as well.

not everyone, maybe Kupp, but definitely going to lose players as we go along. The cap will control how much Stan can spend. Sure looks like the Rams are betting on Higbee to finally reach his potential as a player. If it works out it's a great deal

Well first off congrats to Tyler, nice to see him get some security and be able to stick around. Also for purposes of what "top 10" means, if you look at the TE salary list, cracking the top 10 means more than $6.8M. Is that a huge overpay? I don't think so, given his importance to what we do. But I do think it's an overpay.

What will that look like in 4 years though? Rams might expect Higs to have a big year. If that happens then all of a sudden this thing might look real different. But for now they don't have to worry about him hitting FA and the fact that drafting a TE requires 2 years in most cases or more to settle in to what you want to do offensively.

True i do believe the staple players will be resigned we may lose a couple.

Tyler Higbee TE, Los Angeles Rams

Rams signed TE Tyler Higbee to a four-year extension through 2023.

The contract carries a base value of $31.025M, a max of more than $36 million and plenty of incentives with a guarantee of $15.5 million. Higbee's deal will make him one of the league's top-10 highest-paid tight ends. The agreement indicates that athletically-gifted TE Gerald Everett likely won't see much of an expanded role in 2019. Overall, Everett played on just 35% of the offense’s snaps compared to 72% for Higbee last season. The Rams haven't made a habit of heavily involving their tight ends in the passing game, as Everett and Higbee combined for just one game with over 50 yards last season (including playoffs).

Key will be the new CBA... Smart to get deals done now before the salary structure changes with the new CBA... The cap will jump up folks, so cap space will be aplenty.

So that will happen when Everett, Kupp, Johnson, and Reynolds are up.

May only lose one of those guys as a result. Likely Reynolds who will want to be a #2 somewhere.
