Hendo is such a hurt bag. We need to sign/trade for two guys to get us through the season. Then draft 1-2 RBs. I have zero trust in Hendo from the start and this thumb injury is just another example we can't trust him. We need to add 1-2 before the season opener. I mean we want to compete so lets not mess around and be cute. Be aggressive in the next 3 wks!

If you were rewound 8 months nobody on this board would be saying we need a running back with our second round pick and not a speedy threat receiver lol
We were saying we needed a FREAKIN CENTER. See him now start for the Kansas City Chiefs (Creed Humphreys)

Okay Les, while you're in Denver get together with Elway and make a deal for one of their running backs please.

Would have been a HUUUUUUGEEEEE reach and waste of resources to draft a RB this year!

This is silly.

No one said that the Rams shouldn't draft a RB. They drafted Jake Funk. Isn't he a RB?

The point being made was that it didn't make sense to use a 2nd or 3rd round choice on a RB after the way Akers ended the season. And that there's no guaranteed said player would pan out.

Overreact much?

He's missed more games in the NFL than he's played. What happened in college is irrelevant.

Here's a list of players in the NFL who are not prone to injury (aka "injury prone"):

That is all.

Akers missed 2 games in 3 years at FSU
Facts
Also, for all this talk about "missing a lot of time last year", Henderson missed only 1 game, and Akers was only inactive in 3 games while of course was a workhorse in the playoffs

Sure every player can get injured. Some just seem to get injured more than others. Amazing how that narrative is attempted to be spun sometimes.

I was one who clamored for a center throughout the draft season. I was disappointed they passed on Humphreys. But before I say I was right I'd like to see how he does when the real games start. Earning a starting position is nice, but if it was because the other centers really sucked it won't be so impressive.

I've also been saying I do understand their reasoning. They're all in for this season. They want to win now. A 2nd round pick might improve them but it also might take time. Not to mention they have guys they've been developing and they weren't convinced a rookie would be the better option. We'll have to wait and see if Allen really did improve.

That said I certainly hope they address the position next draft.

That was my take last year. But he has now missed significant time a second year in a row.

I think RB goes back to a team need now due to that. Hell in today's NFL a stable of backs seems to be the only protection for that matter. Maybe 4 deep is a nice approach for the future idk.

I said all along I wanted Creed Humphrey and that he would be a legit starter. Felt he would have helped stabilize our line big time. Disappointing to see that coming to fruition if our center position doesn't pan out and if Tutu has a minimal impact. Hope it all works out but we'll see.

More reason they should have drafted a center vs not. I hate hearing the win now as an excuse (not calling you out by the way, just saying in general) for not trying to develop talent. True professional teams should always have an eye on win now AND developing talent. I ask all, doesn't it take time for WRs (*cough, like Tutu) more than a year to develop but it's ok cuz we really don't need him because we have great WR depth? Creed would be in the same boat at worst. We'll see if the Rams made the right call.
