I agree.

Our offense has been no better than average since the SB. Something happened.

This team is dink and dunk Bradford style. No big plays down the field. When ever they try it is at exactly the wrong time.

Man I wanted to believe McVay was that once in a lifetime coach. I am not seeing that for two years now.
Want to know what’s changed since the super bowl
No running game threat (thanks online )
No deep threat (bye bye cooks )

Which now means all those little dig routes and cuts and stuff that woods and kupp lived on are all being sat on by the opposing backers .. they cover the roll outs that goff thirives on ... no real jet sweep threat anymore ... it’s bad personal all round ... saffold never got replaced (although I think edwards has done fairly well ) Blythe certainly is no starting Calibre guard nor is Corbett )

Goff has had some atrocious games ... but he is out QB for the foreseeable future.

At the end of the day ... I’ll take being a team where 9-7 is considered a bad year as opposed to hoping and praying we go 7-9

while no one thinks goff is any good besides the 5 Cal fans on this board and a handful of other people just trying to promote positivity - i can't say it was all on him.

The offensive line stunk today - mcvay as much as i respect the guy seems to regress to calling the same 5 plays.

The failed wr screen at the end of the game made me laugh.

Mcvay right now reminds me of when im playing against some guy in madden who has me locked down.. and i regress to some play ive already ran 4 times in desperation that has no chance of working.

This team on offense is really not a threat right now.
He kept going back to the roll outs despite nothing being there the ENTIRE GAME.
Both teams took away almost anything down field.
The difference is Wilson is special extending plays and they have receivers that contests 50/50 balls.
The Rams don’t have either of those things.

The offense is broken, and its not all on the QB. WRs get no separation deeper than 20 yds.
The QB rarely has time to throw on 7 step drops against good fronts...although the latter part was not as big an issue today, but the former issue was. Lastly, they can't run the ball when teams know they want to run it.

Today it seemed like Goff could not find anyone open down field. Is that scheme? Is it lack of an explosive WR that defenses don't fear anyone beating them deep thus they can sit on routes? Then on the goal line they couldn't run the ball in.

And yes Goff has to avoid those back breaking turnovers.

It's clear he does not trust Goff, but McVay is not the one throwing it right Into the defenses arms or fumbling when he gets sacked or fumbles when he tries to throw it away last minute. Alot of his turnovers are on his stupid mistakes.
Correct, but how many naked boots are to many. How many WR screens are to many. Against TB Goff threw out of the shot gun most of the game. Something he did in collage and he played well.

We're not good enough. Not gonna have a tantrum about it. And there's still a chance they can pull their heads out and get in the playoffs so gonna hope until it's the offseason.

Maybe I can muster some hope later in the week, but right now? I'd say we'd lose to a winless team.

OH WAIT!!! WE DID THAT LAST WEEK!!!

Sam Darnold will remain with the Jets and I bet they would require a 2nd round pick at minimum. He contributed to beating us and the Browns today and they lost out on Trevor Lawrence, that was like a 2 year saga and now the Jaguars are gifted him. Hilarious outcome. J E T S are all in on Donald.

And what's up with the red zone play calling? Every team.... EVERY TEAM.... has a couple of ace plays up their sleeve to throw the defense off at a crucial moment. You've all seen them. Stature of Liberty. Lineman as eligible receiver. Lob to the tight end in the corner. And so on.

McVay has nothing up his sleeve. Nothing. And it's been this way for a couple of years.
I was pissed the the play calling at the goal line.

The offense is an unmitigated disaster.
Goff is playing like a rookie
the oline can’t block for shit
our RB’s can’t stay healthy, Brown is useless can’t pick up a block and can’t look back for the pass on a hot route
tight ends are useless- Higbee is a non factor and Everett is pillow soft and can’t block
Reynolds still making bonehead plays, got lucky on the non fumble and Jefferson doesnt appear to the answer as he had a key drop and looks like a deer in headlights
They seriously should fire the ST coach before he can do any more damage. They are awful in all aspects. The best ST play of the day was Hekker getting a roughing the kicker call
The play calling in short yardage is just awful. (And in general all together) getting stopped at the 1 was a joke. Running wide when they couldnt get outside all day is mind boggling.
All in all, the bitching will focus on Goff, and while much of it will be fair, I can’t see any QB having success in an offense that can’t pass block and has all the WR running short cross routes

So much to vent about.

The STs - bad punting, bad returns (awful staring position) only Gay good.

Several key drops.

Bad int who the fuck was he throwing to. No excuse.

Super bad OL play never does Goff have time unless he rolls out. No deep shots why the OL.

Too many 3 rd down and long conversions by Seattle unacceptable period.

Injuries etc etc etc.

Whattayagonna do. Flawed roster at key positions being exposed. Coaching not able to overcome it.

What happened to the Running Back as part of the passing game?

I get Akers/Henderson aren’t as talented as Gurley but they’re both capable. We used to kill teams with HB screens/checkdowns.
Because they need everyone to help block. The oline is incredibly overrated.

Oh man the natives are calling for Goffs head everywhere you look right now. Its not pretty. I kinda feel bad for the kid. Not all his fault but he’s the biggest reason

Better pray Akers can go next week and stay healthy after that because in all honesty he’s our best chance right now.

Average number of wins/season under McVay = 10.5
Average number of wins/season over the previous 15 years = 5.9

Every loss sucks, but damn. Let's not lose sight of where we were.

Sorry brother.

This does nothing for me right now.

I am seeing long term problems if we don't make short term changes.

I think at the end of the game there wasnt really anyone open.. but juding from what mcvay said at half time and whati saw on the sideline people were open earlier in the game.

But yeah im not blaming this game on goff - a better quarterback maybe could have pulled it out - but at times he had no chance.

Blocking was good enough, defense was good enough, McVay was good enough, run game was good enough.

Kupp and Woods played well, Everett had some really tough catches. Higbee one drop but made up for it with that catch and run.

Goff is just scary bad at this point. It's impossible to evaluate McVays playcalling fairly with a QB playing this bad - it's like saying a RB sucks when there's no run blocking

guess who has the most giveaways since 2019....baker? good guess but no. The only member of the 30-30 club jamies winston? no. How bout danny turnover dimes in his 2nd year? unfortunately, no. it's goff. its fucking goff.

I've liked the guy since we drafted him but he just makes WAY too many mistakes and usually at very bad times. When the rams win it's usually not because of his performance. When they lose, it's usually because of his performance. The niners games, Miami with 4 turnovers including 2 fumble returns. The jets where he looked worse than any qb in the first half this season, and then today.

I know he can make big time throws but his overall decision making and too many amazingly bad throws at bad times outway his positives. And that's not all. There are other times where he can make a play but doesn't. For instance, the 3rd down run up the middle where he slides a yard short and the rams punt. Aikman said what we were thinking,; it's good to slide but there are times when you need to get after it and goff just isnt that guy. He's proved that over and over. I mean eggs scramble better than goff. Phillip rivers is more mobile and that says alot. Even mcvay is frustrated as he has called jared out twice this month.

Bottom line is id rather have jalen hurts or trade for stafford at this point and unless goff changes my mind thats the way I feel going forward.

He does, but Goff has lost his touch. When was the last time he threw a successful fade? Would YOU trust Goff to throw the ball from the 1? I definitely don't.
