I fast forwarded to the end....You wanna know how Jon Snow dies?

Arya saves Westeros ... well, at least for one more day.

Maybe I was overestimating from the hype leading up to this battle scene, but the production value was a bit of a letdown for me. Being a nighttime shot, it was dark to the point of confusing.
And which leader was responsible for sending the Dothraki hordes out blind and into the middle of the 'Deads' front lines when it's pitch black outside. They were quite literally 'extinguished' inside of a minute.
The end result was fairly predictable, if not the names of the survivors. Bran's story-line may or may not be complete, but it appears that Jorah's is. Not sure about Sam, Gilley or the baby. I'm also not sure both of the 'live' dragons survived, the dead one although, is now ash. That brave little girl, Lady Lyanna Mormont, leader of Bear Island, gets herself crushed by the last remaining dead giant, and that other brave little girl, Wonder Woman herself, Arya saves all of Westeros. Eat your heart out Sansa.
I'll be looking forward to the fireside chat next week while they dress their wounds and ponder the next impending disaster.

Cersei's odds just went WAY up.

Got to agree with you, episode wasn’t all that well made. Was way longer than it needed to be probably. But that ending was awesome. Loved the music and always love Arya. Good to see getting laid didn’t take her edge off.

Nice that the dagger meant to kill Bran, saved him . . . .

Maaaaaan, I'd a used them trebuchets to light up the battlefield before they started -- fling out fire bombs everywhere -- but that's just me.

Other than Milisandre dying, the episode basically ends with Arya looking like she was about to be killed by the Night King, but she managed to pull her knife and sticks him in the gut, and not just the Night King became history, all the dead along with the dead dragon immediately perished, ... so the dead are no more, at least at Winterfell, though likely all of them. They are now ash and won't be rising again.
The losses by the 'Bannermen' were also staggering, so it's hard to say yet how they plan to take down Cercei, Kings Landing, Euron Greyjoy and his fleet.

I honestly thought this was one of GOT's worst episodes. I have HBOGO and usually watch these programs a few times, I won't bother with a second try at this one. There was such a build up to this so-called epic battle, I came away disappointed, although it would appear others here had a different take.
Even Milisandre's return was a let down, she comes mysteriously out nowhere just prior to battle, does a bit of magic which lights up the swords with fire of the Dothraki and other fighters, which was fine, then they charge directly into the front lines of the dead and all die, within a minute we watch all the flaming swords go out. For such a powerful witch, the lady in red was rather unimpressive in her final act. The battle was epic by some definitions in that near everyone, save for most of the stars, die, but there was little dialogue and much of the fighting was done in darkness, so it wasn't always easy to follow.
I'm guessing that the bulk of the production money went towards the dragon scenes and they took a lot of shortcuts everywhere else. jmo.

10/10 for me

The musical score at the end starting at Sansa and Tyrion hiding behind the tomb and ending with the Arya stab of the night king was maybe the best ending score ever when combined with the acting and feeling that the end had come for all.

Maybe it was just the mood i was in or
maybe it was the great acting plus score, but i felt terrified, and knowing GoT penchant for killing off main actors combined with the fact that this is the last season i was i guess naively sucked into to thinking they all would die to the night king.

Following online bloggers i can tell you very few if any thought Arya would be the hero which made for a surprise
twist at the end which i loved.

The episode was perfectly paced for me with perfect foreshadowing at the beginning that apparently no one caught onto. When Mellisandra arrived at the beginning and told Davos she would be dead before dawn, then she had a long stare at arya as if to insinuate that she knew what Arya would do.

The Lord or light dude who died like
8 times fulfilled his role so finally
was able to die. Then Melissandre has words for Arya which go back to season 3 when she told her she would see her again and arya would shut brown, green and blue eyes. TRUST me. i read lots of predictions but not one person caught onto this. The stare Melisandre gave Arya in season 3 when she met her was as if she saw a ghost and i remembered this well.

To each his own but i found the whole episode moving and actually clapped
at the end which i never have done before. The fact that nobody caught onto the prophesy and little side project of arya in previous seasons and introduction and meaning of Melisandre at the beginning of this episode made the surprise ending rich and the bigger story symmetrical.
