At what price ?
It depends on the cap savings vs finding replacement as good as him.

He’s a proven starter… and those are hard to find. We’re an injury away from needing him.

But, by putting him on the market the Rams think they can replace him, is my guess. So, I will have to trust them on that.

We don't have any 7th rounders so maybe he can get us one. Don't see Jackson bringing much in a trade.

We know that from last season.I go all the way to the beginning of Sean Mcvay. He Trusted in Kromer.

We all know Big Whit 77 is The BEST FA signing in RAMS History!

Zak & Munch bring such a unseen value to the O’Line.I trust them & where The Rams are as a group.

Leveston is the player I like as a swing T & LT of the future.

Jake always gives a positive review ? Didn’t watch it,but always liked his crazy ideas on players upsides.

Yeah makes sense. Rams looking to avoid the less $$ loss possible trade or cut him. It's looking like cut so I won't get my hopes up. What a waste of money, but hey it's what the rich do.

Memphis Ram - do you believe the end of the article??

Also Deirerbrock says Alaric Jackson couldn’t have been resigned last year as a RFA.
I'm unaware of any rule preventing a player from being extended after his third season.

SO Deiterbrock says Alaric Jackson wouldn’t sign a contract because he was a RFA.

IMO it’s better for a player to sign a contract guaranteed ,especially he is a UDRFA.They can get 2 contracts out of it & have some nice guarantee of money.

Bobby Witt jr. did it with the Royals this offseason, but that’s the MLB
-thanks

Seriously??
WTF is wrong with you?
I get it that we dont all see eye to on things but to out and out lie about what someone said is just pure trash
I never said he couldnt re-sign, that's just BS
I said 100% factual that the Rams didnt need to sign him long term as a RFA, and they even allowed him to see what his value was with other teams

Then what am I not getting ? That Alaric or Jackson didn’t want to sign a multi-year deal ??

You keep saying I don’t get it ? I believe I get it & that both sides IMO would have been better off getting a deal done.

I always believe that if they did that & didn’t sign Johna Jackson
it would’ve been money better spent at a much lower rate at the time.

To think a player doesn’t want security for less money with a franchise who believes in you & there comfortable with is HUGE.
Also a season earlier gives the player another chance to become a FA for an even bigger pay day.

I don’t get what your saying, because you said he wouldn’t take a 3 year deal & said 5 for $100 million. Then again I always go off recall. — you can look that one up ??

I also thought The Rams after Shelton went through the same thing & did a prove it deal. His last contract should’ve been 2 years. I think they did that with Austin Blythe??? Blythe groomed a 3 time (out of 4) Superbowl center.
He started for The Hags under Dickerson & retired. He was an overachiever & limited in size. The Rams did themselves & Austin a DISFAVOR by putting him next to a ROOKIE in Brian Allen & keeping him at GUARD!!
Meanwhile Shelton started last season at Center for the Bears.

It worked out well for THE RAMS & ALARIC like you said it wouldn’t ?

Is ALARIC’S contract TEAM FRIENDLY?? SO F-OFF !!

Plus just to add what I don’t get ? You kidding me.IF ALARIC had signed a Contract with another NFL TEAM they give The Rams a Draft pick SECOND ROUND??

My point is sign ALARIC last season !!! SO - WTF why & does your pantys get in such a bundle.

Corey Littleton play his AZZ off for The Rams & Les Snead sort of did him wrong ?? He left upset, but played well enough to get his long term deal. To say a player doesn’t want that SECURITY!!! Go tell someone else.

You need to put an eye 2 eye & am not lieing. I might have misunderstood what I don’t get ?

IMO I understand pretty well my POST,which isn’t always the best.
I don’t think you understood ME & or WE don’t see things the same way!!!

I like that you called ME out & explained yourself. Now WE can
Say who was right in The aftermath??

IMO The Rams got LUCKY & Alaric took a few dollars off The Table to stay another 3 seasons.I think The Rams with Johna & Limmer both being starters gives The Rams The most DEPTH UPFRONT than he has had in his NFL CAREER!!!

It comes at a CAP PRICE!! Also as a NON-DODGERS FAN- you think STAN KRONKE has a problem paying the BILL ???
—If it was in his hands he’d PAY COOPER KUPP to Stay EASILY!!!
KUPP is a HOF RAM FOREVER!!!

It’s a business, but as WE can ALL SEE EYE 2 EYE on that The RAMS ORGANIZATION treats there players well. ALARIC JACKSON & MATTHEW STAFFORD would agree & showed there appreciation by there contracts.

Kelly was saying TEAM FIRST & I appreciate her for sticking up for her HUBBY !! She just wanted to make sure The LOVE was there &
that THE RAMS wanted to WIN !!

Same thing as before, as I said over and over.
The Rams werent giving him a long term deal because he was an RFA and they gave him the tender amount. They also allowed him to speak to other teams to see if THEY would offer a long term deal.
He took the tender and got a huge salary increase.
Period, end, stop
There was no reason for the Rams to sign him long term, he was now under contract. Jackson knew his market value so there he wasnt signing any long term "bargain" deal 1 year out from UFA
It all played out the best way possible
If he would have signed a 4 year deal for 62 mill last year, we'd be in the same situation as now.
The Rams and Alaric each played this perfectly and criticism of it is just plain stupid

Not to get too involved in this, but I agree they did the right thing. Plus, why would they ink him to a longterm deal as a RFA when he was slated to be suspended for the first two games which they probably knew months earlier.

They did a good job and executed their plan. Jackson proved his value and they came to an agreement on that value.

The route the Rams chose with Alaric demonstrates that they were happy with him in-house at least to the point where they're ok investing in him. I wasn't sure that was the case given the missed games, but we can't afford to allow a young LT get our old gunslinger killed. And also it demonstrates that they and Alaric managed to come to a reasonable agreement, which is no easy thing to accomplish nowadays.

What I'm wondering now is what the cap looks like if and when they get Jonah moved. Because I think if the Rams could get a CB done in FA they'd be sitting real nice with needs aligning with strengths in the draft.

Fair enough - that is The Best part of it.It worked out for both parties.

That will bring me to your thoughts on EJ53 ? The Rams never used that extra cash on a FA ? Was that a mistake???

In the end & going into 2025,I’d say it worked itself out.Speights got solid experience & if nothing else adds depth. If he continues to play well The Rams are in the same situation as with Alaric which is a good thing. He adds depth & experience at a excellent cap savings.

Not terribly sad about this one - let’s see who we can get with that 6th rounder!
