No chance McVay likes Darnold...or at least I hope not. McVay praised MS by saying something like, "he brings out the best in the biggest moments."

I watched Darnold in 3 games last year-- vs. the Rams in season, vs. Detroit at end of season, and vs. Rams in playoffs. 3 big games, and Darnold was terrible in all 3. Especially the last 2, 2 HUGE games. Darnold was just AWFUL in our playoff game, like a deer in the headlights.

This board would go nuts with disappointment if we signed Darnold. I can't imagine McVay is considering him.
Yeah, and he had good coaching and they couldn't break his habit of looking at the rush, holding the ball.

Limmer could be our starting center for the next 10 years.

If we could get decent compensation for JJ, then yes, go ahead and trade him.

3rd round pick? Am I dreaming?

Nah, maybe a 5th... maybe at best a 4th and we give up a 6th.

EDIT: After looking at his 25' salary, $9M, not sure you get much at all.

If they take on the salary, we'll be looking at him and a sixth in exchange for a fifth.

I think we could be competitive with him. I just don't think we'd win a super bowl. I'm still one of the few sickos who would swallow the pill and let Aaron Rodgers join the team.
You mean the Aaron Rodgers who courageously led a pretty talented Jets team to a 5-12 record. Is the pill cyanide ?

Team, coach and organization mean everything to a winning season. Statistically even with a lesser coach and cast along with him they weren't that far apart.

If I was an owner and the GM and HC were on a short leash, I'd make them consult me before any big trades or moves. You can't risk them being desperate and mortgaging multiple future years to save their jobs in the present.

Our QB is Matthew Stafford. The guy who "failed" with the lions, remember? Good coaching matters.

I would rather go with Jimmy G than Aaron Rodgers.

And I hate Jimmy G.

Hoping for a 6th for JJ but that might be a pipe dream.

Kevin O'Connell likes Darnold there's a very very good chance that McVay does as well. And Darnold IMO wouldn't be a long term signing just a bridge guy, we'd draft a guy as well.
And yet he's unsigned. I'm not so sure either coach likes Darnold after what they saw in the playoffs.

Only team that can sign him right now. Also Darnold and his agent would be idiots to sign right now unless the Vikings offered him top dollar.

I might be in the minority on this. But I'd like to keep Jackson on the roster if at all possible. The dude while not super durable can play either guard position really well. I was hoping we'd keep him to let him battle it out with Avila. While I understand he probably wants to start for a team and doesn't want to ride the bench, I'd bet he would beat out Avila if given a chance while fully healthy.
