Lobster Mac is a real treat. The mac and cheese go perfectly with the lobster. I looked through my phone for a pic of some to share. There's a restaurant down in the Keys called Angler N Ale (Hawks Cay) that makes it perfect. I think the reason that I don't have any pictures of it is because it's literally engulfed by everyone as soon as it gets to the table.

I did find a pic of a lobster pizza that a restaurant here in the O-Town area makes for Sunday brunch sometimes. It is so fattening... but it's damn good.

OK.... hold on.

I found a pic of the lobster mac that they serve at Angler N Ale. It looks really simple, but one bite and you will be in heaven.

Ok you bastids, I finally made it to an Iowa delicacy, which is Fongs Pizza in Cedar Rapids. It was one screwed up day/fiasco, but I ended up with the car keys to our “new” Lexus GX 470 and 3.5 hours left to drive...meaning 24+ hours awake and travelin, which just about made me say, screw Fongs. But the dealer from which I bought the car said at 8:45 that night, you are just a few minutes away. So I did the smart thing and had Crab Rangoon pizza and beer after being so tired and still needing to drive across the state. I asked myself, what would @Selassie I do?

It was VERY good. Get you some CGI! @CGI_Ram .The beer was a great Iowa craft brew lager on tap, called Toppling Goliath Dorothy...Shout out to my server Jessica V!

At that point... I would have decided to drink/eat too much and get a room. Wake up whenever my eyes decided to open and then make the drive home.

That's cool that you finally got to eat there. There's just no way that I would have rushed it.

Welp, I’m in Council Bluffs and wasted most of the day sleeping until 2:45pm. But then I was up for 25 hours before that, so....today I tried Raising Cane’s chiken strips and Runza’s SW vegetarian sandwich.
Nothing to brag about in either case. I’ve had much better chicken strips from a local grocery story deli and the Runza sandwich was nothing special, which was disappointing..... ah well, get me a GeneralTsaos chicken pizza from Fongs the next time you go through Cedar Rapids or Des Moines!

Yeah. I was very impressed with Raising Cane.

Edit:. It is supposed to say UNIMPRESSED.

It was just bland fried chicken tenders. I don't get the attraction.

You were? Maybe I caught them at a bad time, but I doubt I'll ever order from them again.
What was it you didn't like?

Every time I've ordered from there the chicken has been cooked perfectly. It's tender and juicy, never dry or rubbery. I've gone to three in my area a few times each. Doesn't matter how thick or thin the piece is.

Now they aren't super packed with delicious flavor, but that's what the sauce is for. And the sauce is good. I'd never had a comeback sauce before (I think that's what I heard that type of sauce is called), so I was pleasantly surprised.

Their fries definitely leave something to be desired. Literally worse than crinkle cut fries I make from a freezer bag.

The toast is toast. I hate coleslaw (did you know vegetables grow in the dirt? Disgusting). That about sums up the entire menu.

Mine were not that juicy and made the breading less desirable. I compare it to the deli of a non-chain supermarket in a nearby town, and those chicken strips are probably as good as anything that I've ever had. So juicy and hot and flavorable. Better than KFC, Raising Canes, private rests, and others. Two strips would equal a good size chicken breast, and 4 such pieces can be had for $5.00. White gravy is available as a dipping sauce, along with the normal sweet and sour, bbq, ranch, etc.... Yeah Iknow, deli food. This is exceptional, however.

As for the Rasing Canes sauce, it was ok. In fact, I was all set to buy a bottle of it if I liked it a lot, if they sell it that way....I liked the onion ring sauce at Burger King just as much...just meh.

Weird. I've never had poorly cooked strips from them. They aren't huge and they definitely aren't that cheap. I can understand your reaction.

I have to say one of the best meals I had was at "Mom's Restaurant" in Plattsmouth, NE. Real pulled roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and white grave (carrots and peas....with a triple berry torte, topped with vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sprinkled on top. Nothing was fried/breaded and it tasted so healthy and good. Real food, loved it.

Did you know.... when corn is ripe, you can eat right off the stalk in the field. Just peel and eat.

I did not know that, until a year ago. I was shown, and did it.

Freaking awesome!

I thought IT HAD to be cooked.
