I just can’t watch this OL with Evans any more. He’s so bad. I dunno what they see in him, but it’s not working.

He has to go. I’m a disabled vet and I’d pay real money for him to never play for the Rams again.

Along with Higbee and Rapp. Anyone who was on the field that let this team down should be axed as well. Lets not single anyone out call it out how it is…

I don't know what happened to Higbee today - he was dropping passes left and right that he normally hangs onto.

That one pass that a defender would have had to run down from behind - that was such a tough drop

Rapp should never ever ever ever be 5 yards back from the line of scrimmage - put him up tight - he is a good run stopping in the box safety but for some reason he is playing 10 yards or more off the line of scrimmage - where he sucks

How many times have a said it ? Its about the O line, the O line and the O line.
The offensive line, the most important unit on any football team. No matter how good your QB is, WRs are and your RB, without a competent O line the team is in trouble.
A great O line even helps out the defense. Long dominating drives keep them well rested and lets them pin their ears back and get after the QB when we run it up.
Draft 6'7" athletic stud O linemen and find your skill positions (most of the time) in the middle rounds.
Stop trading picks, pay the piper and get back to long term talent.

I've been saying this for 2 years now, so I can't really add anything to your statement.
The 49'ers absolutely destroyed Evans in our week 4 game with them, yet the Rams chose a Darwinium approach in an attempt to fool the bastards. Well done McBerry.

I have stated in the OL thread that we should have drafted an OL or two in 2020 and 2021 in the first four rounds and we didn't draft one - nada

That is why we are in such deep dog shit right now

Of course, we can always go back to the reliable Creed instead of Tutu statements lol

It’s bizarre continuing to play Evans. Unless McVay is a mad scientist and is slow playing his hand - letting 9ers think they have it easy against us and then bam…change up & win against them in the playoffs. No, I’m not serious. But I’m at a loss for any type of explanation

How many snaps did Van Jefferson receive ? Seems the Rams should have led with Skowronek as our #3WR or gone to 12 Personnel with Hopkins & HOECHT instead of the injured Higbee. Jourdan tweeted that Hoecht got a few TE snaps in, but he should have been next to Evans throughout the entire game. jmo.

He has needed to go. This isn't new.
It’s another case of this team doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

I just don’t get it. McVay jettisoned a young QB who struggled but has talent and had played well in the past. But Evans has never played that well and has mostly sucked and is still here. Why?

Because QB is instrumental to the way he wins. OL are not as important. Drives me batshit but we just won a title so... :beer2::woozy2:

Well, part of the reason we won a title is because we didn’t have to rely on Evans. But there still needs to be accountability there too, because as we are learning (again), when you have weak links in your OL, it negates whatever talent you have at QB.

Love Snead & McVay, afterall they brought us a ring and 5 exciting yrs of football and I hope they stay another 10 yrs.

However, when you have the last 5 yrs of no 1st rd picks you have to hit on an above avg percentage of your 2nd and 3rd round picks. And I mean you need to hit on a few pro bowl type guys or border line pro bowler types.

So when your 2 & 3rd rounds, over the last 4 yrs, consisted of...

Noteboom, Evans, Henderson, Rapp, Akers, Jefferson, Burgess, Lewis, Jones, and Bruss.

...then you have a problem because only one is an above avg contributor this season and that's Jones, and he plays a position that is not as high impact as many other positions.

Now Bruss is injured and could be a big factor in the future. Jefferson has contributed in the past, but this yr he has not done a thing due to injury. However, the rest of this group has been spotty at best during their tenure here and that is hurting them big time now.

Granted they have done well in the late rounds finding good solid role players, but they have no young special talents on this team right now and it is so obvious watching other teams in this league.

If Lewis was a 10 sack guy and Jefferson was a Robert Woods clone or Akers was an exciting young runner and Evans was a very good young OG and if Rapp or Burgess was a playmaking S then maybe we would be in much better shape this yr.

Of course that's not the case and they have huge draft's ahead of them these next 2 yrs...not just next yr. They need a few back to back homerun drafts to avoid a slide in this franchise.
