It's gonna be really nice to see Boom come back next year and be a core OL member though. Still rooting for him.
We've had some great signings, but I think acquiring Whit was the key turning point for the Rams.

Yeah him and also Sully did a great job for us early on. They basically bought this regime time to rebuild the line on the fly, Rams just need to finish it.We've had some great signings, but I think acquiring Whit was the key turning point for the Rams.
True, but I think they did. They drafted Noteboom & Brian Allen to give them one year under their belt before being thrust into starting. They also brought back a guy they drafted in Demby too and drafted two additional Offensive Linemen this year in Edwards & Evans.
But Edwards coming out was viewed as potential backup. This dude isn't exactly Quentin Nelson in the house.
Four draft picks and seven or eight UDFA over the last two drafts isn't planning ahead?
Before playing hurt all his senior season, he was viewed as likely a high 2nd round pick. That's not somebody viewed as a potential backup.
Nobody really thought he'd be a big factor in 2019, but he looked surprisingly healthy in TC - a sound player, but who did still need to add strength to be a good starting OT.
With his inexperience at Guard, and him still building strength, he very well may struggle. However, since the alternatives were all struggling badly, he should still be an improvement - which should help Allen at least a bit, to not have an absolute hole to one side of him.
Depends on who you ask....
Notice Below NFL.com has Edwards projected grade as an NFL Backup or Special Teams Potential.

Also 2nd round potential lineman don't generally slop to the bottom of RD 5.

And now we are full circle my good friend!
Here’s to hoping that he at the very least holds his own! Lol sob!
Good thing we have the Falcons, Bengals and then a bye coming up. I’m sure Geno Atkins is going to be a handful for him!
Never was on the Demby/ Blythe train. What you think it takes to get Williams? A 2? And if so would you do it?
Agreed. Particularly when you factor what the whiners were doing picking up Ford and Bosa. Its still very difficult for me now to think that this Championship Rams team actually thought it was going to be fine in the OL unit .......when we had two OL'ers starting (one out of position) who had never started........ now in their 2nd seasons.......... & a first yr OL'er Jamil Demby who had never suited up for a regular season game as our 6th OL'er???alm:
What was I thinking???
How could that plan end good?
Now that was one seriousmiscalculation by our top administration.

Hmmm.... I think our bet started because I said Blythe is horrible and you said you pride yourself in o-line review and he was a good player. I even said Edwards would start and become a HOF player before the end of the year!! Lol IDK shitSorry for the late reply.
Technically, you bet that Edwards would take Blythe's spot, but I'll let it slide, given how the entire offensive line looks.
And hell no to Williams. No way I pay a valuable second for a tackle who is over thirty and has the injury history Williams has. I wouldn't pay for Glenn either because of his concussion issue.

Highly doubt that Blythe relinquishes his right guard spot to either Evans or Edwards. I don't care how badly Blythe played in the Super Bowl; he was excellent on the season and deserves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his starting role.
I do think that Demby, Evans, and Edwards fight for two of the guard positions after the 2020 offseason (Noteboom sliding over to Whit's spot, Blythe not being re-signed), but Blythe is the man right now. And if he's ineffective, I think Demby gets first crack at the spot.
I'm sorry I disagree wholeheartedly about Blythe. With him being a turnstile at the SB I won't look at him any other way. At times last season he got overpowered as well, guy isn't doo doo but he isn't great either.
I can hear Demby being the front runner but Edwards has that upbringing at OL U. I could see him asserting himself the first 4th of the season over Blythe and Demby. Also, having Havenstein being a teammate and from OL U he'll take Edwards under his wing.
Edwards isn't close to ready to play in the NFL without a year of seasoning first. Edwards is still raw, had a severe shoulder injury, and played worse against amateurs than Blythe played against professionals. I don't care that Edwards came from Wisconsin; Blythe is from Iowa, who puts up just as many good offensive lineman as Wisconsin.
If Blythe struggles, it'll be Demby who replaces him, not Evans or Edwards. I have nothing against Edwards; I think he was a good pick in the fifth round. But he's clearly not ready to play in the NFL, if you've watched enough of his tape from last year.
I'm sorry if I sound rude, but this is something I'm passionate about. People are really underestimating Blythe and Demby, in my honest opinion.
Let's make a bet on it that Edwards won't be the starter by seasons end?![]()
Absolutely. Bring it on.![]()
